Birthday Candy Time (sticky post)

In celebration of my birthday in one month, I have some (literally) Fantastic Ribbons to give away courtesy of ... yes, you've guessed it,

This online shop sells my all-time favourite ribbons, like the one used on my previous post, or the card below (which is an oldie, but still one of my faves).

So when the lovely Keith at Fantastic Ribbons offered to sponsor some blog candy, I was absolutely delighted.  Thanks Keith !!!

They are also launching a new range soon, and have sent me some pictures to tempt you :

The fabulous prize generously donated by Fantastic Ribbons is 4 rolls of any ribbons of your choice from the Fantastic Ribbon web site, with free postage.  How Fantastic is that !!!

In order to win :

  1. Ensure you're a follower of my blog (if you're not already).
  2. Post a picture of the Fantastic Ribbon badge on your blog, with a link back to this specific post.
  3. Leave a comment on this post telling me your favourite way to use ribbons on your creations (see below)
Your comment may be something simple, like how you attach a bow to your card, or how you create the 'perfect bow'.  But perhaps you have other creative ideas, like pleating, fancy bows or creating rosettes or ribbon flowers?

Feel free to leave a link to a blog post if you need more space to show us your tip 'in action'.  If you do leave a link to a ribbon tip in your comment, please mention and link to this giveaway in your related blog post.  (no back-linking though please).

Your "ribbon tip" doesn't have to be complicated, so no-one is excluded from winning, but I just want to see something to show that you love beautiful ribbons!  The idea is that we may all learn something new for using our ribbons, as well as be in for a chance to win some Fantastic Ribbons.

A winner will be selected at random on my birthday, October 5th, and notified on this blog, so keep an eye out to see if you're the lucky person.

Good luck everyone, and I look forward to reading all your comments and top tips for using beautiful ribbons.

Happy Crafting

  20. Lovely card, Annette.

I don't use ribbon as much as I should...Wink! but everytime I use some, I love to make my bow and use my embossing gun, when the texture allows it, to make the ribbon "curly".

  21. Oooh, ribbons! I am having a tough time deciding on my favourite way to use them, but I think it is randomly pleating and stapling for a grunged effect, maybe with an inked edge...

  24. My best ribbon tip is to buy good quality sharp scissors & keep them just for cutting ribbon. No point having the most beautiful ribbon if you don't get neat edges! Just off to post the pics no on my blog & I've just discovered I'm not a follower, I really thought I was!!! Am now though!

That card is beautiful & I have some of the same ribbon! x

  27. Supercute card Annette, Love the charm.

Most of the times, I used my ribbon in a bow, but sometimes I use my ribbon to close a little box or money wallet.

  29. Hello!
Thanks for letting me know about your candy!!!
Your card is very pretty and I like the bow on it.
I love to use ribbons and love bows as well, but just to leave a tip, for masculine cards, instead of making a bow I make knots to embellish them with ribbons because I think bows are girly, but knots are perfect for boys and adult males.
Thanks for the chance and wish you a happy birthday.
I' a new follower and put your candy in my sidebar.

  34. Hi Netty!
Love your cards, and also your freebie sentiments.
As quite a new cardmaker I've only used ribbons in two ways so far.
    1) tie a bow using the Bow Maker on my Crafter's Companion Ultimate Pro - sooooo easy and gives a great result!
    2) just wrapping 1 or a layer of 2 different sized and/or coloured ribbons around my card.
Thanks for the chance to win your Blog Candy - hope I'm lucky :o)

  35. Hi Netty. Fabulous giveaway. Love your blog, will definitely have to do some more looking around. I have just become a follower and I've linked your giveaway to my sidebar.
When it comes to wide ribbon, I prefer to make my bow separately and then glue it on with a hot-glue gun. That way it turns out to be perfect no matter what. Fool Proof!
    Thanks of the chance
