Holly and some Stamping Linen

The theme today at ABC Christmas Challenge is F for Felt or Fabric.  For my fabric I've used Stamping Linen and printed my digital image onto it in grey-scale before colouring it with my copics and fraying the edges.  It was quite difficult to get the colours to blend, and I did find that some of the colours seemed to be different to how they normally look, but they didn't bleed over the surface like the've done when I've stamped onto fabric before.  I've added some sparkle and some liquid pearls, and some snowflake themed die cuts.

"I demand a RECOUNT"

The theme today at Top Tip Tuesday is to create a funny card.  I've used an image from Bugaboo which came with an amusing sentiment, so I didn't have to use my brain to think up something funny, but while I took the easy option, most of the rest of the Top Tip Tuesday teamies did think up their own sentiments, so pop over to the challenge to see their fab creations.

In the meantime, here's my card :

Book Worm

I've got a late one tonight, a 'just for fun' card to share.  This one features Geekin' It by Saturated Canary.  It was actually the second attempt too, as I really wasn't happy with the end result of the first card I made. I think that might have been because the papers I'd used were green and orange, both colours that I don't like, but I much prefer my 'go-to' colour pink.

Anyway, here is the second attempt.

Jessica

Sunday is here, and I woke up this morning to see a very light dusting of the white stuff when I opened the curtains.  Most of it has now melted, but it's still cold, and quite rare to see snow this far south. Anyway, as it's Sunday I've got a project Stamp Basket to share.  Today I'm using Jessica and some gorgeous papers from Crafty Impressions called Lace Butterflies.  Don't forget there's a Spring Sale on over at the Stamp Basket, so pop over there for some fab bargains.

Grace

Woohoo, it's Saturday, and so I've got a pretty in pink card to share with you today using an image called Grace from The Stamp Basket.  The papers are so pretty and it seemed a shame to cover them up too much so I kept the design really simple.

There's a Spring Sale on over at the Stamp Basket, so pop over there for some fab bargains.

Mimi with Puppy

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy and this week it's Mimi with her dog.  I've used 2 images from the newly released set as I like the peeker image for the inside.   I painted my images with DI re-inkers and stitched around all my panels (and yet again asked myself when I will learn not to attempt this when I'm using circles!)

I used the cut outs from a border die for the paw print accents.   I followed a sketch at Charisma Cardz, but unfortunately their challenge ended 2 days ago!!  LOL  Never mind, it was a nice sketch so nothing lost!

Here's the front :

Xmas in March, and a lesson to learn in sewing

I won the 'star of the month' at CRAFT challenges last month and the prize is a Guest Designer spot for the month, so here I am with my first creation in support of the challenge which starts today.  The theme is Xmas in March and we're sponsored by Kenny K, Doodle Dragon Studio, Flonz Craft and Digital Delights.

I've used a saucy Kenny K image called Mistletoe and added a typed sentiment which I think goes well with the image.  It's been a while since I made an easel card too, so I've cut out a scalloped circle with a Go Kreate die, and used a red colour scheme.

One of my 2013 New Year Resolutions was to include stitching on my cards, but I think I need to have a 'get out clause' when I'm using fancy shapes, and in that category I would include circles.  My sewing machine does not have a speed control setting, so it's either stopped, or at full pelt, which makes navigating around shapes really difficult.  I could use the hand turning control thingy, but I'm too impatient and my foot finds the pedal too easily!!!  There were only a couple of wobbles, but they're all I can see when I look at the finished project!!!  My old machine had a speed setting so I could slow it right down.  I didn't think of it when I got my new machine last summer, but I miss it now I've not got it!! LOL

Anyway, hope you like my card, and I look forward to seeing your Christmas creations on the CRAFT challenge blog.

    White Wedding

The theme today at Lili's Little Fairies is 'Top of the Pops' (song inspired).  I did actually find this one a toughie, but in the end decided on Billy Idol's "White Wedding".  However, that might show my age a bit, so perhaps I should say it's inspired by Bruno Mars' "Marry You" instead??   LOL

Either way, I made a purple card with white accents, and a wedding image.   I painted the image with my DI re-inkers and added just a few embellishments to keep the design minimalistic.

    Barry Snowflake

Stampfairy are sponsoring I Love Promarkers this week, with a theme of Ribbons and Bows and I'm a guest designer for this challenge.

I've also combined this with a mid-way reminder card for our "Eyes down for BINGO" theme at the ABC Christmas Challenge.

Despite this being quite a C&S card for me, I've still managed to include all of the BINGO items except for the flowers and lace.

The card base is a Shape EZ Snowflake card template, cut out and inked around the edges.  I cut out my image, added a tree die cut, and layered it all with foam pads onto an embossed circle.  I sneaked in some vintage ribbon, pearls, a bit of sparkle, and that's about it.  With a really fancy shaped card I didn't want to overdo the embellishments, so kept it nice and simple.

    Daisy-Mae's Door Hanger

We're half way through our 'Up Up and Away' challenge at Top Tip Tuesday.

I've created a cute little door hanger for a work colleague who had a baby girl a few weeks ago using an image of Barry Bear with a balloon.   My image is painted with DI re-inkers on water colour paper, and I used some thick glittered backing papers which are stuck onto the MDF door hanger and trimmed to shape.

I've also added a couple of die cuts, my new Lavish Branch and also my Memory box Banner.  With difficulty, I added some lettering by printing it onto the green card before using the die.  It was a bit fiddly, but I got there in the end.

Here's a close up of my painted image with his glossy nose and balloon.  I printed him out in a grey outline colour so that the lines were not as dark. I think it gives a softer effect with the DI painting.

    Bunny With Cake

Wow, it's Sunday already, I can't believe how fast this weekend has passed, but the good news is that I've got another card to share showcasing items from The Stamp Basket.  This one is Bunny with Cake and it looks to me like he needs a hand with that piece of cake, and I'm just the person to give him some help!!! LOL.  This is quite a versatile image, he could be used for a birthday, but I've added an Easter sentiment which I think is also suitable.

    Purple Florence

    Woohoo, the weekend's here again.

I've got a new image from The Stamp Basket to share today called Florence from Crafter's Companion.  I've used the same sketch I've used a few times in the last couple of weeks, but I really like it.  It lets me use some really busy papers, but because they're broken up into smaller panels, they don't overpower the card.

These papers are particularly lovely and I've edged them in a plain purple card to give them a 'pop'.  I cut out and coloured my image, and raised her up onto a circle, onto which I'd chalked some background clouds and grass.

I'm also using some lovely new dies; the Locina Buckle and Fancy Blossoms.  I chalked the petals of the die cut flowers, and curled them around my paintbrush handle to give them some dimension.

Finally, I didn't have any purple seam binding, so I used some vintage ivory ribbon and just swiped along it with my marker pen (the wide nib end) which coloured it the shade of purple that I wanted.  However, it did make it a bit stiff, but once it's on the card it is fine.  I'm not sure it would have tied a good bow though!

    Good Luck Barry

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy, and this week it's Good Luck Barry!  I've printed him in a pale grey for the 'no lines' technique, and then painted / water-coloured him with my DI re-inkers.

I kept the theme quite plain because I wanted it to be a masculine card, so I've added a ribbon (mainly just to cover the join in my papers), a bow (ok I couldn't resist) and some pearls in two corners.

    That's it!

      Emma Rose Garden

The theme today at Lili's Little Fairies is Mother's Day so I've got a card to share using Emma Rose Garden from LOTV.  I know it's not particularly girlie colours, but this one is for hubby to give to his mum, and since her favourite colour is turquoise I've tried to incorporate that colour in my card instead.

      Eyes down for BINGO

The theme today at ABC Christmas Challenge is Eye's down for BINGO and yup, I'v got another baggie to share with you.  I think that I've used all of the items on the bingo board (yippee) rather than just choosing one line.

Here's my project, using an image from our sponsors Stampfairy, as well as a roll bag template from our joint sponsors Shape EZ.  This bag is so easy to make, and looks great.

I've painted my image using DI reinkers, and much prefer the result to yesterday's disappointing painting attempts!

Hope you like my giftbag ...

      Up Up and Away

The theme today at Top Tip Tuesday is Up Up And Away, so we want to see lots of balloons, planes, rockets and other airborne items!

I've used an image of a bunny in a hot air balloon and coloured him with my DI re-inkers. I'm not so happy with my colouring on this one. I think I used too many browns together!  I should have made the bunny a white/grey colour I think!! Or probably just used Copics and be done with it!!!

Anyway, here's my project, using my lovely roll bag template from Shape EZ.

      Teddy with Present

Today's cards features a new Wild Rose Studio image from The Stamp Basket called Teddy with Present.  He would make a lovely Mother's day image, but today I've used him for a birthday card theme.

I've used some gorgeous papers called Lace Butterflies from Crafty Impressions which are pink and aqua coloured, so I'm in seventh heaven with this set!  I'm also using a new Memory Box Norrland flower die for the first time and I'm really liking it.  The petals were cut in white card, then I chalked up the centres with pink shimmer chalk and curled the petals around my paint brush handle to give them some dimension.  To finish them off I popped a coloured pearl in the middle.

The other die cuts were also cut in white card and then coloured with a pink Copic to match my colour scheme.  The pearls were easy to colour too, because they are on a clear plastic sheet so they don't move around when you colour them to match your theme.  It's a great way to buy your pearls as then you can colour them any shade you like depending on the colours you're using on each project.

Anyhoo, first I'll show you my card.  I've used Eleanor from Crafter's Companion and some gorgeous Wild Rose Studio papers.  Pink and blue is also (today's) favourite colour scheme.

Happy Place & DT Call reminder

Stampfairy are sponsoring The ABC Challenge today, so I've created a card for the challenge.  The theme is I for In Love and so I've designed a romantic card in pink with my favourite Papermania papers.   I've created a typed sentiment saying "You make my world a happy place" as I wanted to enter the 'happy' challenge at Totally Gorgeous too.

I've printed my image onto watercolour paper in a pale 'washout' grey rather than black so the lines are soft and then I painted it using DI re-inkers.
