Candy Pouches

There is a new challenge today at Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog, and we've got a sketch for you to play with this fortnight.  However, rather than make a card using the sketch, I decided to use it to make some little treat pouches, seeing as today is Halloween.

I made 11 pouches in 2 different designs.  Each one contains a Mars and Twix chocolate bar.  These are the ones that the Mars confectionery company call "fun size".  I call them "Miniscule, but I'll have one if that is all that is being offered"!!!

The pouch template was a freebie from Cuddly Buddly (as recommended by my Stamp Fairy teamie Jacki - Thanks for the tip Jacki!!!).

And here's the sketch - nice and easy one so there is no excuse not to join in this week:

Clemantine Christmas, and some new pens

It is Friday so there is a new release and freebie today at Stamp Fairy.  Today's set is  Clemantine Christmas.  Here is a card I've made using one of the digis from the newly released set, and the matching freebie on the inside.  I've coloured Clemantine using my pencils, I quite like the candy cane (except after I coloured it red and green I realised it should really be red and white!).  I think I still need loads more practice with the pencils though.

My latest purchase, a set of 12 Sakura Stardust pens, as recommended by the lovely Samantha, were on my doormat when I got home tonight, so because I'd already coloured my image,  I therefore used the pens to highlight the edges of each layer of my card. You can just see the glimmer around the edges if you look closely.

I also used them to highlight Clemantine's hair bows, the snow and the bow on the pressie too as I couldn't seem to put the darn pens down once I started playing!  Kind of cute though, huh?  I decorated the inside using the freebie, a fancy snowflake font, and yes, some more stardust pen-work!  They're just to lovely to put down !!!

Boxed Sketch

This is my forth, and final (*sniff*), week as a guest designer for Papertake Weekly. I've really enjoyed my time with the team. I'd like to thank the team so much for letting me play along with you this month.  It's been a real treat.

Today's challenge is to a fab sketch.  I've used an image that I've got especially for this challenge from StampFairy called Jake Poinsettias.  My friend, the StampFairy artist, Gerda says that he looks like he's sitting in a snow globe!  I quite like that idea (that was the look I was going for, of course!!!)

Here's my box, (pink of course) !!! :

Here is a close up of Jake coloured with my pencils.  I'm not sure if I'm getting any better with these pencil colourings or not !!  What do you think?

And here is the sketch to follow, it's a nice one huh?:

Card Recipe:
  • Images - Jake Poinsettias from Stamp Fairy, and  Wall from The Stamping Boutique
  • Papers - Nitwit Designs
  • Nesties - Grand Labels 1
  • Colouring mediums - Pencils and Sansodor
  • From my stash - Pearl star, some really old ribbon I found, stickles
I hope to see you all join in the challenge, and please pop over to the Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog to see the other fab designs by the DT members, and join in the Sketch challenge this week.

No Patterned Papers

There is a new challenge today at One Stop Craft Challenge, and the theme to play along with this week is "No Patterned Papers".  We're sponsored by One Stitch at at Time who are providing a fab prize.  I've tried colouring with pencils, but only had watercolour pencils which didn't blend very well. So I've just purchased some new Coloursoft pencils which are MUCH better.  I'll be playing with those a bit, so you may see a few more pencil coloured pics (hopefully a bit better than this one!)

By the way, there is a fab tutorial on colouring with pencils and sansodor by my StampFairy teamie Larissa.  Her colouring is so fab. Check out Larissa's blog and her fab tutorial.

Barry Christmas Stocking

It is Friday so there is a new release and freebie today at Stamp Fairy.  Today's set is  Barry Stockings.  Here is a card I've made using one of the digis from the newly released set.  I used the freebie image on the inside as well as the sentiment from the newly released Clemantine Winter set too.

And then I got a bit carried away and made another one. I think I'm in love with Barry !!! The inside of this one is similar to the one above (same sentiment and freebie, but just done in red holly)

Spooky Hues with Toby Bear

This is my third week as a guest designer for Papertake Weekly.  Today's challenge is to Spooky Hues, but it doesn't have to be a Halloween card.  This gave me a chance to do one of my favourite images, which is Toby from StampFairy.

My spooky hues are purple, orange and (although it hasn't shown up very well) there is a green vertical panel, and each purple layer is bordered by green.  The sentiment is also green.  The ribbon is orange, and those vibrant flowers were previously cream ones that I coloured with my orange copic (YR16).  It is a little bright !!!  I hope you're wearing your sunglasses when you look at this one !!!

Here's my card :

I've also decorated the inside too along the same theme, but using a different Toby image:

By the way, there is a new release out at StampFairy today, a new girl is in town, called Molly.  There are some more images of her coming out shortly, but for now, here is a preview of the newly released character, Molly.  Don't forget there is a half price sale on too.  Pop over and grab yourself a bargain (or two!).

Halloween Hanging Decoration

There is a new challenge today at Stamp Fairy Challenge Blog, and the theme to play along with this week is a spooky "Halloween".  I've made a little hanging decoration shaped like a cobweb and covered in black glitter.  I cut out a cobweb shape (using a traditional paper snowflake technique) and coloured it with black copics (the wide end).  I then covered it in glue stick, and sprinkled it with black glitter.  This was a HUGE mistake as there is now black glitter all over my cutting mat, dining room table, in my pockets !!!

I'm still finding sparkles in the carpet (even though I've hoovered umpteen times).  I'm going to be sticking to Stickles in future, I can't cope with this loose glitter !!!  I even used a bit of newspaper as a "sprinkle mat" so I could 'fold' up the excess and scoop it back into the pot, but still it got everywhere.  It is as though I sneezed and it went 'poof' and sparkles went everywhere.

Gone Fishin'

There is a new challenge today at Incy Wincy, and the theme to play along with this week is Recycle.  We're sponsored by Prairie Fairy Designs who have kindly supplied some digi images for the design team to showcase.  My recycling is the ribbons. The wide chiffon orange ribbon was saved from an old Christmas cracker, and the thin brown ribbon was from a blouse.  You know those little ribbons that are in womens' tops, that are meant to hook over the hanger and keep the shoulders from slipping off when it is hanging up?  Well all they seem to do for me is hang outside the neckline when I'm wearing the top. So I cut them out. And recycle them of course !!!

With the brown papers and orangey gold ribbon, it seems a bit seasonal with autumnal colours.

Coffee and Cream

This is my second week as a guest designer for Papertake Weekly.  Today's challenge is to use lots of shapes, at least 3 different shapes, one of which can be your card base.  This gave me a chance to do one of my fave shapes, and also a Magnolia image, which I don't usually get chance to use normally.  I also followed a Coffee and Cream theme (although this sounded easier than it actually was!)

Here's my card :

I've also decorated the inside as I was rather pleased with the front (even if I do say so myself !)
[sorry this second photo is slightly blurred, but I only realised that when I edited it, so please don't think you need a trip to Specsavers !!!]
