Bride & Groom

At As You Like It Challenge this week we want you to show us your favourite papers.  I've recently moved onto plaids (which I've previously hated) but the papers I've chosen for today's card are from the beautiful Maja Design Vintage Romance pad. There are so many gorgeous papers in this set, mainly in my favourite pink and blue colour schemes. My only complaint is that they're double sided, and I often feel frustrated in having to stick one side down and hide it. There are definitely some I cannot bear to use because they're so pretty!

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Hair: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs
  • Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick
  • Ground: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Groom's Outfit: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot
  • Bride's OutfitMilled Lavender, Dusty Concord

Running Mice

I wanted to try something a little different today, and make an animated 'flip' page notebook. I used one of the mice from the MFT Harvest Mouse set and stamped him on each page of the notebook gradually moving forwards each time. I also drew in a little cherry from the basket he's carrying to try to make it look like it was falling to the ground.  I've included a video below the main photo and I hope it works to show you what I've done!

Best Gifts

We're talking stitching at As You Like It Challenge this time, and although I really love real stitching on cards, it's so much simpler and neater to use stitched dies to apply a bit of texture and interest. I've opted for a curved and straight stitched die edging for my image panel although looking through my dies, a large proportion of them are stitched to some degree!  This card was made for my "bestest buddy", but she's received it now so it's safe to share.

Sunday Papers

I've had a lovely relaxing weekend including colouring up some soon-to-be-released new Vintage Boy images from Lili of the Valley.  I'll share a few with you over the next few days, starting with today's, which is called Sunday Papers.  I find masculine cards much harder to get excited about, but these cute little laddies make it much easier to get motivated to have an inky session!  I've created a little set which I'll share over the next few days to build up a stock of cards I can give to the men in my life!
