Let it Snow

It's Christmas in July at The Stamp Basket this month, so I've got another festive card to share.  It's never too early to start with those Christmas makes, and if it gives me an excuse to get out those glitters then it can't be bad! :0)

This card was intended to be a bit more masculine, but as usual I've added a bow and some pearls, so as usual, that didn't quite go according to plan!

I've used the Nordic papers and ribbon I had left over from Monday's kit project.  There's plenty in that kit to make extra stuff, so it's great value.

Helping Santa

Brace yourself for a masculine card today.  No flowers or pink although I did sneak in some glitter.

Oh and a few pearls.  D'oh!  Ok, so maybe it's not as masculine as I'd hoped for, but it's certainly less girlie than usual, and quite C&S for me.

I've used some of my new Wild Rose Studio papers and a lovely Nellie Snellen image of a little lad pulling his sledge.

The bow is actually a double bow, but it's come out quite dark in the photo. The ribbon is actually a really rich forest green, and quite a bit lighter than it shows here, so I hope you can still make out the double layer of it despite the darkness.

Paper Pieced Present for You

Hello everyone.  Today's card is quite simple.  I paper pieced some of the image and then used a simple sketch with a couple of border dies and some gorgeous rich red burlap twine embellished with a couple of gold bells.

Fibres, ribbon and twine

Woohoo, I'm a guest designer with my old teamies at the Incy Wincy Challenge today, and have used some of my favourite things on my creation today to ease my mojo back from it's absence.

The theme is fibres, ribbons and twine, and I've used all three on my card.  I've stamped my image onto Stamping Linen and frayed the edges to really show off the linen effect.  I've also used my favourite 15mm wide satin ribbon and some matching red twine which is holding on a cute little silver jingle bell.  All my other embellishments are white to keep the design simple and not cover up any more of the pretty pink Magnolia papers than I had to.

Take a Present

I've used a cute Nellie Snellen image today from The Stamp Basket called Take a Present, and my new Magnolia Papers.  I really love the soft pink of the papers, and didn't want to matt them onto dark pink papers, so I matted them onto white card, and inked the edges to give them some definition.

I cut out a square from the backing paper and re-layered it after matting it and stitching around the edge.  I also stitched around the image panel.

The sentiment was typed and then inked over with a pink Stardust gel pen and cut out using a notables die.

Giving Away

Today's card is a bit less colourful than Saturday's Nellie Snellen card, although I have sneaked a bit of pink into the image.  The matting and die cuts are all in silver mirror card, and I've used another of my cute little Nellie Snellen images.  This one's called Giving Away.

Hokey Pokey

Today's card is a Christmas themed, but not traditional Christmas colours, but I think it looks festive and magical with the little fairy image. I really love these cute Nellie Snellen images, and I've teamed my little fairy with some sparkle and a lovely ornament die from Whimsy.  I hope you like my contemporary Christmas card.

Take a Present

My card for The Stamp Basket today features one of my favourite Christmas stamps from Nellie Snellen, Take a Present.  I just love this sweet image.  I've used a festive red and green colour scheme to match the lovely Wild Rose Studio papers, and added just a couple of dies, a large snowflake and also a sentiment die.  The red satin ribbon and white lace seem to complement each other, as the red twine and white snowflake do too.

Hokey Pokey

I know it was exactly halfway to Christmas earlier this week, but my DT card today for The Stamp Basket showcases another festive image, this time called Hokey Pokey from Nellie Snellen.

I've used a rich red and contrasting frosty aqua colour scheme and added a couple of my (current) favourite dies; Floral Oval Nesties and Precious Stars.

Giving Away

I ordered a few bits and bobs from the The Stamp Basket sale last week, and although they're Christmas images, and it's only June, I couldn't resist using them for today's card.

This one is called Giving Away and I painted her with my distress reinkers. I tried to water down the colours a bit as I wanted a softer appearance.  I've used non festive colours of aqua and brown, but added some white snowflake die cuts.

Hope you like it.

ps: don't forget the huge Summer sale on at The Stamp Basket either.  There are loads of lovely bargains to be had.

You Like My Star

Today's card uses a sweet image from The Stamp Basket called You Like My Star.  I've moved away from the traditional Christmas colours and back onto the contemporary colours for a while (it seems to go in phases!).

I've used some pretty new dies too.  This flourish is lovely, but the new star festoon banner is gorgeous, and I've coloured the edges of the stars a little bit so it gives them some definition.  A few pearls, a ribbon & pearl brad and a few flowers, and voilà !!!

Baby Jesus

Today's card uses a sweet image from The Stamp Basket.  I've painted this one with my Distress re-inkers again, but I feel that this time the colours are a bit washed out and pale.  I've bought a new watercolour paper paper pad to try and see if this helps my painting a bit.  Keep watching this space!!! LOL

I also had a small mishap when colouring the image, and I coloured Mary's foot green when I was painting her head scarf.  I couldn't colour it pink then for her foot colour, so instead I pretended she was wearing shoes, and coloured it chocolate brown instead.  I think I will try to colour this image again sometime soon and see if I can improve!

Present for You

Yay, the weekend is finally here.  Thank you for all your sweet birthday messages yesterday.  I'm so happy that I've met so many of you here in blogland.  It is not just a place for crafting inspiration, but is also a place where I've met so many lovely new friends.

I'm sharing a card today that I've created which is a bit more masculine, so I've kept the embellishments to a minimum (for me).  The Holly dies are accented with some red liquid pearls, dark green copic and white gel pen.

Hokey Pokey

Yup, I know it's not Saturday, but I've got a bit carried away with my stash from The Stamp Basket, and made another card to share today.

I didn't overload the card with embellies as I wanted to show off the backing paper and image, both of which are gorgeous.

Sharing a Biscuit

I've got another card to share today on behalf of The Stamp Basket cos I got a bit carried away with my DT kit and couldn't help but be inspired by these beautiful Nitwits papers.

This card is so 'me' with the soft blues and white snowflakes.  The backing papers are from the Nitwits Joyful Hearts collection and the quality is just amazing.  When I call it backing 'paper', it is thicker card than my card base and just feels gorgeous.  I really had to force myself to use it because it just felt too good to cut up.  It has a lovely fabric appearance too.

The adorable image is from Nellie Snellen. I've not coloured her before and I know she is already one of my favourites from the collection with the cute little squirrel.

I am also addicted to Glamour Dust. It is so much finer in texture than stickles and looks fantastic.  You need some clear wet glue (I use glossy accents) and sprinkle it on, and you get a stunning sparkle.
