Tree hugger

It's Friday so there is a new release and freebie at StampFairy called Barry Winter 3 and this set is oh-so-cute.

I'm really getting into my Christmas cards, and some cute images of Barry is really helping.  I think I need all of this set!! LOL.

I've digitally paper-pieced the tree, and used fluffy-stuff for the snow.

    Winter Fairy Tag

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is anything but a square.  I've used my tag template again and created a huge Christmas tag using one of my new LOTV stamps.  I put some stickles around the image panel to make it stand out a bit more, as the backing paper was a similar colour to the paper I'd used on the base of the tag.  I also glittered the snowflakes, although they're not showing up much on the photo.

    Toboggan for Two

It's the mid way point of our Quilting challenge at the ABC Christmas Challenge. We're sponsored by the amazing LOTV and Crop Shop.   I've used Toboggan for Two from LOTV, and have glossed or glittered pretty much everything in sight !!!

Have a "Teatally" Magical Day !!!

This fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is Birthday Gifts.  I've made a little gift pouch by taking the packaging from a fancy packet of teabags apart, scanning in the flattened packet to my computer and reducing it in size so that it fits onto a piece of A4 cardstock.  I then printed it out and used it as a cutting template for this smaller version, which I cut out of shimmery bronze cardstock.

I also printed the owl image onto the card before I cut out the template so that it was properly placed, but then printed it again onto white card to create a second layer on foam pads.  I also printed the image again but much smaller, and including the sentiment 'Have a magical day' for the tag.  Because of fancy shape of the packet and tag, I've kept the rest of the box minimalistic with just some liquid pearls and stardust pens for accents.

    Victory !!!

I'd like to thank the girls at the Incy Wincy Challenge for letting me play along with them again as a guest designer this week.   However, I've really dropped a clanger, because their theme is 'boys'.  Well, any of you who visit me regularly will know that this theme is just not in my nature. Where are the flowers, pearls, glitter or anything remotely pink?

I despair.  I feel that being bereft of all these lovely girlie things makes my card rather bland.

However, I have included some lovely satin ribbon, although no bow :0(  because this week's boys challenge is sponsored by Fantastic Ribbons (Oh I love their ribbons!!!) and also Kenny K digi downloads.

    Here's my attempt.

If anyone has any tips for boys cards please leave me a comment.  Be gentle though !!!

    Anniversary card and baggie

It's my hubby's parents' wedding anniversary today, so despite hubby's procrastinations that 'he doesn't celebrate anniversaries' I've made them a card and decorated a matching baggie (the bag is mainly because I fancied stamping on fabric again).

The 'out-laws' are also staying with us this weekend, so we're taking them to a restaurant right on the seafront that does yummy Sunday lunches.  I will probably regret it about 3pm, when I'm feeling complete stuffed and ready for an afternoon snooze!

Anyhoo, back to today's project.  I've used a Lili of the Valley image that I just adore using for anniversaries, and my lovely new Papermania papers, which I am completely obsessed with at the moment.

    Here's the card ...

    And here's the baggie .....

The baggie is quite large.  The card is 15cm square and easily fits inside with room to spare.  You can see them together for their respective sizes here .....

I really love that the card is quite clean and crisp looking, but the baggie is quite soft and muted.

    Purple fairy dust

I've got a 'just for fun' card to share today to enter a few challenges.  I've used one of my favourite LOTV images (I thought I would play with my older images while I'm waiting for my new LOTV stamps to arrive in the post - yes I did give in and order some of their beautiful new images!!!).

    Mimi Halloween

It's Friday so there is a new release and freebie at StampFairy called Mimi Halloween 1 (Hmmm, I wonder if that means there will be a Mimi Halloween 2!!!).   Now I'm not usually very keen on Halloween cards, I think it is because I don't like spooky stuff, but this little girlie is cute, so I had fun with my card.  I also used some bats from the Barry Spooky Bats collection.  I cut them out and stuck them on to the card on springs, so they bounce a bit if you move the card !

      Spots and Stripes

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is spots and stripes, so I've made a card using one of the images in my last order.  She's such a sweetie and I've used my trusty purples again too.

      Patchwork Quitling

It's the letter 'Q' at the ABC Christmas Challenge which is Quilting - we want you to make a patchwork type background.  This is a great way to use up some of your old scraps of fab papers, that would not normally be large enough to use on a card.  We're sponsored by the amazing LOTV (Oh I soooo wish I could win this prize) and Crop Shop who have some fabulous dies that I'd love to win too. *sigh*.  I've used James bear, and glittered his bobble hat, but it is not too sparkly in the photo.  The glitter is there, honest!! LOL

      A multi-layered single-layer card !

We're halfway through this fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday, and often the team showcase mid-way reminder cards.   I had held off making one because I had found the first week's card so hard with the theme of 'one layer cards'.  I just find these so hard because I love all my layers and embellishments, so I decided to 'think outside the box'.

Here's my one layer, no embellishment card  ...

Honestly, it really is just one layer.

To prove it, take a look at it from this angle ...
Absolutely everything is digital, the image, the papers, the 'matting' (which is just a digital border around the image in a matching colour), the flowers, the string bows, even the lacy ribbon.  It was all designed as one complete image before printing it out as a single layer.

Once it was printed, I then coloured the girlie with my copics, and used some Sakura Stardust gel pen on the sentiment and the 'string bows' to make them sparkle.

Did I have you fooled?   ;0)

      Here's how I did it ....

      I use Microsoft Word.
Start with a plain page of A4/Letter size and follow the steps below...
