Purple Florence

Woohoo, the weekend's here again.

I've got a new image from The Stamp Basket to share today called Florence from Crafter's Companion.  I've used the same sketch I've used a few times in the last couple of weeks, but I really like it.  It lets me use some really busy papers, but because they're broken up into smaller panels, they don't overpower the card.

These papers are particularly lovely and I've edged them in a plain purple card to give them a 'pop'.  I cut out and coloured my image, and raised her up onto a circle, onto which I'd chalked some background clouds and grass.

I'm also using some lovely new dies; the Locina Buckle and Fancy Blossoms.  I chalked the petals of the die cut flowers, and curled them around my paintbrush handle to give them some dimension.

Finally, I didn't have any purple seam binding, so I used some vintage ivory ribbon and just swiped along it with my marker pen (the wide nib end) which coloured it the shade of purple that I wanted.  However, it did make it a bit stiff, but once it's on the card it is fine.  I'm not sure it would have tied a good bow though!
