Squirrel Nutkin

Well it's back to the grindstone for most of us today, including me, and I'll admit that I'm not looking forward to the first full week back at work.  I was poorly with a cold during the holidays so haven't really done much and I'm still lacking in energy (but that may also be the weather, short days and the fact that it's January!) but it's back to business and today is also my first card of 2016.

I decided to create a J-fold card for this little critter from Lili of the Valley as he's quite dinky, but still deserves to be the centre of attention on the card.  I've kept the design simple with just a couple of die cut leaf branches and a small single flower in matching colours.

Ah, that squirrel is a real cutie, unlike the little horrors that taunt our Westie by running along our garden fence!!

Beautiful card Annette! I love that image, I just wish the latest LOTV images were just a bit bigger :( I don't have much use for images that small, but they're just such cute characters, all the trios are the same, beautiful but too small! Your colouring is fantastic as always and I love what you've done with this card :)

We had one of these critters in the garden this morning and he was keeping us amused by trying to climb the bird feeder pole...he failed because Dr. Hubby had greased it with Vaseline - lol! He got about a third of the way up and slid straight back down! He also tried to jump onto it from a nearby fence...and missed fairly spectacularly! Poor squirrel...I hope he went and found himself a nice acorn like the one on your card :-)

This fancy fold is fabulous and a great way to use the smaller image; the flowers along the edges look so pretty.

Big hugs, Kat xx

Aww he's so cute! Fab colouring and a lovely card.

Thanks so much for the Christmas card and gift, they're lovely... as you might have noticed I'm rather disorganised at the moment, but I'll make up for it later!
