I tried distressing the edges of my backing papers with some sandpaper, but it didn't have much effect other than making the purple panels look a bit fluffy.
Then my "neatness OCD" kicked in, and made me wince at making the papers all scruffy, so instead I just inked the edges of the panels so that they looked distressed.

Really love this card Annette... Everything about it is just right! I have that image too.. Must ink it up soon!
If I have to distress edges, I use a blade of my scissors at right angles to the paper and rub it along.... Then to get over the 'tatty' look...I put lots of stickles along it! It's amazing how some glitter can help!
