Winter Wedding in the Snow

I've used a gold, silver and black theme on this winter wedding card, and added some snow to create the winter snowy theme.  I've used a scrap of gold ribbon, some silver liquid pearls and a gold peel off.

Here's a close up of my image and snow (I didn't wait for the silver on the dress to dry so it still looks wet!  Patience never was one of my strong points!!!)

Thank You Tilda

Now is the perfect time to be making Thank You cards, so I've used one of my new Tilda images on an easel card with a pink and silver theme. I've used Pink and some scraps of white lace, overlaid with sparkly silver ribbon, added a pink spotty bow and some pink flowers. I've coloured Tilda with a range of pink Promarkers and added some silver pearls.

Birthday Cake Mice

This one has to be one of the simplist cards I've done; A matted Penny Black image on a pink glittered card (which gives it a bit of a Christmassy feel).  I've added some red liquid pearls and a birthday peel-off coloured red with a permanent marker as accents.  It seems effective and I quite like the simplicity of it.

Special Challenge

This card was created for a special challenge over on the 2 Sisters Challenge blog, as follows:

Create a card that has a theme of THINKING OF YOU. You can also use HELLO, JUST FOR YOU, & JUST A NOTE as sentiments on your cards. Please refrain from using the sentiment of get well. Once you have your card(s) made and posted to the challenge, please write an encouraging note in the card and address the envelope to "ANY PATIENT" and then place the card(s) in a package addressed to STACY WALKER, 15 WILLOW WAY, SWANVILLE, MAINE O4915, USA

When your package is on its way please e-mail twosisterschallengeblog@live.com to let Stacy know it is on its way.  Once all the cards have been collected, Stacy will deliver them to the volunteers at the Brigham & Women's Hospital on January 30th to be handed out to patients in their transplant wards. It is hoped that when the patients receive these beautiful handmade cards and read the notes of encouragement it will brighten their day a little.

I think this is such a lovely idea, and therefore I decided to make a card to send off.  I hope this post encourages lots more of you to pop over to Stacy's blog and spend a few minutes to brighten someone's day with your magical creations.

Here's my card:

    Thank You Bear

    Happy Christmas !!!!

I didn't think I was going to have any time today. My dad's been over to join me and my hubby for the usual Christmas tradition of stuffing ourselves silly, but his christmas present to my husband was a snooker table.  So while the two 'boys' have been playing snooker (quite amusing in itself as they'd had a few tipples) I've been practicing with my new oval cutter given to me by my bestie.

I've had a happy half hour making a thank you card for my mother-in-law (she also bought me some crafting bits, fancy ribbons) so I was in crafting heaven.  The card uses a LOTV image and I've used a pink and silver colour scheme with lots of pink flowers and some silver liquid pearl accents.  I've also made it a folding easel card with an arched top (my new oval cutter) for a bit of a difference.

    Blue Hedgy Pressie

I've used a Penny Black image of hedgy holding a present for this blue themed card. I've matted the image onto blue card, then again onto silver mirror card before using one of my new Laura Ashley papers, some filger ribbon with loops held on with silver brads and some blue cherry blossom and rose mulberry flowers.

    Pink Flowers

I love using soft colours and these Laura Ashley papers have inspired me in this pale pink and green colour scheme.  I've coloured Tilda in a pretty green dress holding her birthday gift, and added pink cherry blossom and tea roses.  I cut out the scalloped edge of the circle with scalloped scissors and Tilda's legs overhang the circle.

    Purple & Orange Tilda

This is not a colour combination that I would have chosen, despite liking both colours, but they seems to fit together really well, and I'm quite pleased with the end result.  That's the great thing about entering challenges; it makes you try things that you wouldn't normally attempt.  Hope you like it too.

    New Year Tilda

I've used a new Tilda image on this project and made another calendar. Not sure yet, but I think I'm going to keep this one for myself, although it would make a great pressie for the New Year!  I've used my favourite iridescent lilac and purples with some patterned papers, cherry blossom and rose flowers, purple bow and lilac liquid pearls. I've also used a pink ribbon stretched across the width.  I cut out the image and even cut out the little petals and raised them up on tiny foam pads.

    Hidden Pressie

I've got some new Tilda images, so she's come out to play again !  This time on a blue and silver colour theme.  I've used Promarkers to colour the image, some shimmer chalk around the image outline to give some depth, and some Laura Ashley blue papers as backing, matted onto silver mirror and matt silver card.  Finally, For embellishments I've added some silver liquid pearls, a silver peel-off, some baby blue roses in two sizes, and a baby blue cherry blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts.

    1st Birthday Bear

Although stamping is my favourite technique, I've used some die cuts on this card for a 1st birthday card. The cake is also from QuicKuts so it is a real die cut card today.  The paper is from a small pack that wasn't quite big enough to cover the card, so I joined it near the top and covered the join with a strip of gold peel off. It looks like it is now part of the design.  I read somewhere, that crafters don't make mistakes, they are just features of the cards !!!

    Birthday Balloon

Another Penny Black image, this time little mousey in his hot air balloon.  This is a birthday card (I've overdosed a bit on Christmas Cards!) in an orange theme. I've coloured it with my twinkling H2O watercolours, which have reflected in the flash a bit, but that just shows how shiny they are!  The orange paper is textured fibres with silver swirls, and the card is peach iridescent.  I've coloured a peel off in orange perm marker to create the birthday sentiment.

    Snow Dance

I've had this image for a couple of years, and I still love it. I've embossed the edges of the card to create a border, and added some pink flowers to create a pink and silver theme with the silver liquid pearls, and glittered snow flakes.

I've been inspired by the following:

    Funky Santa

Most of my cards involve my favourite craft technique of stamping, but this one is a bit different as it is a die cut of Santa.  I love the simplicity of this card, and they're not too fussy like my usual cutie cards.

    Twas the night Before Christ-mouse

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stiring, not even a mouse.  These little cheesecake mice images make me smile, and this one is making his list for santa.  I've done 4 cards, using the same image, with different colour schemes:

Pink theme, with pink cherry blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts

Green with DCWV papers saying 'Twas the night before Christmas'

Blue and silver with glittered blue snowflakes

Red & Green with Cherry Blossom, glittered snowflake punchies and satin ribbon

    Flower girl

I think this has to be my favourite Tilda image, and I've used red this time rather than my usual blue princess look.  I think she looks lovely.  I've also received my first order from Wild Orchid Crafts of some really lovely cherry blossom flowers (got them in several colours just to be on the safe side!!!).  I think the post office thought they were real as when they put the card through my door (I wasn't in when the box arrived and it had to be signed for), they put 'perishable' on the description.  I'm in love with them already and have made lots of cards this weekend to practice using them.  Just 'gorjuss'!!

    The Holly and the Ivy

This little kitty reminds me of my tomcat, Arnie, as he is sitting with a handsome grin on his face. (not sure Arnie would appreciate the holly wreath on his head though - think I'll give that part a miss!)  He's sitting beside me on the chair as I'm blogging (he's probably expecting some food as usual), but he's great company.  Therefore I'm dedicating this card to Arnie!

    Skating Along

This is a traditional image (girlie all dressed up in red coat and fluffy hat) with a twist (the doggie pulling her along).  I've used a red colour theme throughout and some digi papers which I've used a lot this year.  They are so great as they're available in so many colours. I've used both versions of the red (normal and negative) and some red shiny card to cover the whole card blank.  I've coloured the image in red, green, brown, pink and white (hat).

I've glittered a punched snowflake in white, and also visited my local craft shop, The Craft Room in Newton Abbot, and purchased some Woodware Fluffy Stuff which turns into 'fluff' when heated, so I've put it on her hat, scarf and coat edges. It doesn't show in the picture very well, but I'm really pleased with it.

    Going for a song

I love this Penny Black image, it is sooo cute and I love the cheesecake mice anyway, so double bonus!  I've used my Promarkers (as usual) and added lots of snowflake papers and some matching ribbon and flowers to give it a monochrome pink colour scheme throughout.

    Something slightly different

I've been making a few Chrismas pressies and went a bit mad making lots on the same theme.  I bought a few calendars from my local (and much loved) craft shop, and have been adorning them to make some calendars for xmas pressies for my besties.  They're effectively easel cards, with the twist, and I hope that they'll stand on someone's desk all year.  May even keep one for myself!

    Godson Birthday

I've used a Penny Black birthday stamp for this birthday card, and added some glitter to the candles to make them sparkle.  I've used some stripy backing paper, some blue card for the circle and added some gold swirls.  I've given the card some texture with some liquid pearls and buttons and scalloped the edges of the matting card around the image.

    Have a 'mice' birthday

I've added lots of floral embellishments to this card because of the flowers tumbling from the balloon in the image.  I've coloured this with my Promakers and twinkling H2O paints to give it some sparkle and added some white gel pen to highlight the balloon.  I've added a pink ribbon and bow, pink flowers and pink liquid pearls.

    Special Friend

I've used a pale purple theme on this girlie card for a special friend's 30th birthday. I've colour co-ordinated all the embellishments and coloured the image in lilacs, added lilac flowers and a lilac gingham bow.  I've used some of new papers, but also used a sparkly iridescent lilac paper which gives a lovely shimmer.

    Boy on a Swing

I've made this blue themed card for a boy's birthday.  I used blue papers, one with boy themed text, blue ribbons with silver brads, and blue embossing powder to spell out Godson at the top of the image. I've also chalked around the image to give it some depth.

    Cracker Bear

I've been using some Christmas Tree themed papers that I got in a pack that have struggled to provide me with some inspiration. So I've combined them with some of my favourite stamped images to give me some motivation.  I've used a red and green christmassy colour theme and shaded my image so that it looks like the light came from the right hand side, so the left side of the cracker and bear are darker.

    Tilda's Christmas Dress

Tilda's been out to buy a new sparkly dress and is showing it off.  She's got a pink one this time, and a little pink underskirt with pink shoes.  I've used a dusky pink paper and coloured a silver sentiment in red to match the theme.  I've finished it off with pink liquid pearl dots and red & pink roses.

    Shades of Purple

Just luvin' this Tilda image and as I sold my last card with this colour combo at the weekend, I thought I'd make another on a similar theme with different paper combos.  I've used a sketch by Critter this week and give the card lots of layers by lifting up each level on sticky pads.

    Carols by Candlelight

I've used a silvery blue theme for this Christmas card, with the little mice caroling around their candle lantern in the snow.  I've used some old papers and scraps of left over snowflake paper, but as they were all the same colour scheme, I think it works quite well.  I've added 3 different types of blue flower and some punchie snowflakes with some blue liquid pearls to top them off.

    Birthday Cake Bear

This is a lovely birthday bear by Lili of the Valley and great for a girlie birthday. I've used a pink theme, and added some fab papers; Laura Ashley for the main paper with some handmade textured paper for the vertical strip, and some lovely glittered embossed paper for the horizontal scalloped edge. I've added some mulberry flowers and added some glitter glue to give sparkle, finally adding a birthday sentiment in gold.

    Golden Girl

I wasn't sure if this image would work for a Christmas card, but I think I may just have got away with it!  I've used my new Japanese Tilda image and glittered her up to the max, with lots of gold and glitz.  I've used a 'peace on earth' text backing paper which isn't showing too clearly in the photo as it is white writing on a pale gold paper. I've glittered up some buttons and added some gold ribbon. I've also found some textured corrugated gold card which I've used for a strip on the left. Would you believe that this was the first paper I ever bought as I used it on my wedding invitations which were the first cards I ever made in 2005. The gold buttons on the right are also glittered up to try to make it feel more Christmassy.

    Pretty Princess

Tilda's been given a new dress and she's showing it off! I've coloured this with my Promarkers and some blue glitter glue with some shimmer chalking around the image edge. I've used some old papers bought in a paper stack, and my new Tilda image.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon that I won on another challenge, and held on by brads.  Isn't she pretty!

    Blue Princess

OK. I admit it.  I'm a Magnolia Tilda convert.

Just a week ago, I actively didn't want to use any Tilda stamps as they seemed to be everywhere.  And if you follow everyone else, you don't stand out from the crowd (my rebellious side is showing)!  However, I decided to give in after seeing so many fabulous creations using Tilda stamps.

So, here's my second Tilda creation!

This one uses one of my favourite colours (baby blue) and is Princess Tilda with a pretty blue dress, layered onto scallop-edge blue glitter paper, and then onto white and blue snowflake papers, with some blue glittered snowflakes and blue & white paper flowers. I've also coloured a silver peel-off with a blue permanent marker and curved it around the scalloped circle.

Expect to see some more Tilda creations soon ... !

    Lady in Red

This is a fab glamorous image from Penny Black, coloured in red, with some traditional green and red accents for the card papers and embellishments.  I love the little puppy, although if that was my moggie, Arnie, he'd be begging up to play with the dangling pom pom on the hat she's holding !!!  I love all the glitz and glamour of this image, and have put lots of glitter on it (not that I usually need an excuse to add some glitter!)

    My First Tilda

I've been seeing everyone's creations with Magnolia Tilda stamps and they're always amazing. My stamping stash is predominantly Penny Black and Lili of the Valley, so I've been feeling left out of the Tilda craze!  But no more !!! I've got 3 Tilda's, and this is my very first creation using the first one.  I've used my fave purple iridescent papers and some new Laura Ashley papers that I've not yet used.  I've added some layers, even cutting around Tilda and raising her up onto sticky pads.  Finally I've added 3 purple spotty buttons, 3 mini gems and a purple bow.

    Hedgy Thanks

I love the Penny Black Hedgy stamps and have used one of my transparent stamps on this Thank You card.  I've used an orange theme, handmade papers and black spotty buttons. As usual I've used my Promarkers to colour, and some chalks to shaddow the image.

    It's a Cracker !

I love this LOTV stamp, James the bear is so cute holding this cracker that is bigger than he is!  I've used a pink theme, embossed some vellum and layered it onto some pink handmade paper. I've added some glitter and glitz to the image, coloured using my Promarkers with a chalk shaddow, and some pink flowers in 2 sizes.

    Glittered Snowy

II've had this stamp for a few years, and used it loads last year, but had forgotten I had it this year.  I recently had a sort out of my stash of crafting stuff and found it, so decided to make a card using it.  I've coloured it with my Promarkers and some glitter (compulsory!) and used a green snowflake paper with purple ribbon accents (to complement the purple scarf on Snowy).  Finally I've added some lilac flowers and liquid pearls, along with some more glitter (just to be on the safe side!)

    Hope you like my creation.
