Christmas Fairies and a Farewell

This is my final week as a DT member with the One Stop Craft Challenge.  I'm so sad to say goodbye to the lovely ladies on the team, but I know that the new teamies will be joining soon and will have lovely creative projects for us all to enjoy.  Thanks to everyone who has joining in the challenges while I've been on the team, and I've loved seeing all your fab creations every week.

Blogversary at One Stop Craft Challenge

It is our 3rd Blogversary today at One Stop Craft Challenge, and so the theme to play along with this week is "3 is the magic number" - use 3 of something on your card.

I've used 3 different images, Molly Winter 1 (sitting Molly), Molly Winter 5 (fence) and Molly Winter 6 (Lamp post).  I've also added 3 layered snowflakes with pearl centres and also made a 3 panel stair card.

No Patterned Papers

There is a new challenge today at One Stop Craft Challenge, and the theme to play along with this week is "No Patterned Papers".  We're sponsored by One Stitch at at Time who are providing a fab prize.  I've tried colouring with pencils, but only had watercolour pencils which didn't blend very well. So I've just purchased some new Coloursoft pencils which are MUCH better.  I'll be playing with those a bit, so you may see a few more pencil coloured pics (hopefully a bit better than this one!)

A poor attempt at Vintage

There is a new challenge today at One Stop Craft Challenge, and the theme is Vintage.

Now vintage is just not my usual style and I really struggled.  I used Victoria & Albert papers, lace, seam binding, tore the edge of the image panel, inked up the edge, and added some coffee and cream coloured flowers, but I'm still not sure I pulled it off.

Anyhoo, I've had some extra fun this week as I also had another play with my cute little fabric bags from the talented Sandy at Hugs & Holidays.  She's such a lovely lady, so please go and check out her etsy shop, plus she has been inspiring me to ink up my stamps on some fabric again, so I've come up with this little creation!!!

Isn't she cute !!! I also stamped and coloured the same image on the back of the bag, but didn't put any flowers or buttons on the reverse.

I love this new stamp from LOTV which arrived this week.  I really wish they would stop sending me these free samples though the post (shhhh, that's what I tell my hubby now when another new package of lovely stash drops on the doormat !!!  Although I'm not sure he believes me any more, 'cos LOTV would appear to have made a similar "mistake" last month too.  And possibly the month before.  Oh dear.  But their images are just soooo cute I can't help myself.  They just seem to move themselves into my cart on their own, saying 'buy me, buy me pleeeeeease' !!!).

I think it looks even better on the fabric bag, really soft, especially with the matching card (Sandy's idea to make a matching card & bag!! Thanks honey, there will be many more samples to come yet !!!).  I stamped it and coloured it (being careful not to get too near the edges 'cos the colour bleeds quite a bit), and then glittered her dress and flowers.  I then shaded in the sky a bit, and added some gorgeous crotchet flowers and leaves in the most softest wool.  My other embellies were some buttons (with soft wool ties), liquid pearls, and some lace with woven-in seam binding.  I added buttons to the centres of the flowers and stitched them on by hand.

Because I wasn't altogether happy with my Vintage card creation attempt, I made another little card too (not vintage this time, but one I was a bit happier with by the end).  I think it matches the baggie a bit better too.

A Sticky Situation

Magnolia Textures

Woo Hoo, I've got over 300 lovely followers!!!  I've been hovering at 297 for ages and it seems that yesterday's freebie givaway have taken me over the 300 mark!!!  I'll have to celebrate with some more freebies soon, so keep your eyes peeled !!!

Anyway, on to my second card for today.  I've not used a Magnolia image for a while and decided to ink one up for this week's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge blog.  The theme is "Texture" and we're sponsored by our very own One Stop Card Crafts Shop. 

My textures are embossing, lace, layers, raised image using foam pads, wire/mesh butterfly, flowers, bow, gems and stickles.  

Unfortunately by the time I'd finished adding all that texture, I didn't have room for a sentiment (although there wasn't one in the sketch I followed to be fair!).  Anyway, I left my creation as an 'any occasion' card !!!

Happy 30th to Shelley

This one's for you Shelley - Happy 30th Birthday.

Well how appropriate is this....  at the One Stop Craft Challenge this week, the theme is Special Birthdays, in celebration of Shelley, our team supervisor, who is 30 on the 5th.  Please pop on over to see her to give her your best birthday wishes.    However, that's not all, because this is also my 200th blog post, which is also something of a special occasion, so I think there is definitely reason for a celebratory card !!!

Lenny & Linda's Wedding - An Inside Job?

It is a new challenge at One Stop Craft today and another first for me as I've had a go at decorating the inside of the card.  Previously I've been a fan of putting so much on the front that if I decorated the inside, then I'd have a card that is an inch thick.  But I've seen so many lovely samples on blogs where the inside is decorated in the same theme that I wanted to have a go, and so I decided to indulge in 2 images from the new Stamp Fairy Lenny & Linda wedding range that complimented each other for me to do this.  (I couldn't resist them while they were in the half price sale!)

The challenge at One Stop Craft this week is Chocolate (either the colour or the delicious yummy variety), and, although I'm totally addicted to the edible kind, I decided I may end up licking the card if I used an image of chocolate, so I opted for the colour instead to be safe.  I've used a simple layout design with my new label nesties from Homespun from the Heart, running them through twice to emboss the edges, and added a few latte coloured flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I've used promarkers and chalks for my colouring and just added a few flat backed pearls to finish.  The shiny brown card behind the image was from the cover of a brochure that was a gorgeous chocolate colour with streaks of shiny brown across it, so I saved it to use on a card, and this one was perfect.

Blue Heffalump

This week's challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge is Monochrome and we're sponsored by Robyn's Fetish.  I've used the image 'an elephant never forgets' and used a blue monochrome theme throughout; blue digi papers (one embossed using budding vine embossing folder), blue nestie beaded oval die cut, blue liquid pearls, blue flowers, blue 'make a wish' brad, and a blue sentiment (one of my own freebie digi sentiments 'beautiful baby boy'.  I'd included several Baby themed freebies on my post last Sunday so help yourself if you want any of them.

Angel Gift Bag

After my guest designer week last week, this is my first official week as a full time designer for One Stop Craft.  Our theme this week is fairies and angels, and our sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps who've let me play with this lovely angel image.  I thought that I'd have a go at something a little different today, so have followed a tutorial I've seen on how to make a gift bag. Here's the video, but I have also found step by step photo guides here or here if you want to have a look.  As I'd used decorative cardstock, I didn't use add any other embellishments.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend (and a freebie!)

Woo Hoo, I've got some exciting news for you today.  Not only have I been invited to be a Guest Designer for One Stop Craft Challenge Blog for the week, but I've also been invited to join them as a full time DT member!!!    Double Woo Hoo !!!  This calls for a celebration, so I'm giving away another freebie today (see below)!

The theme this week is 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend', so I interpreted this to be a girlie card with bling.  Now, as I'm someone who likes cute and pink girlie images covered in sparkles, you can probably imagine how disappointed I was with this theme (NOT !!!).  Well, I'd better get back on track to the card I've made, which uses a beautiful little Stamp Fairy image called Patsy Tooth Fairy (except I cut out the tooth part which was hanging from the cloud to leave just the fairy part!).

I've used my Promarkers to colour her in pinks, added glitter to her wings and hair bow, and used 'fluffy stuff' to create a fluffy cloud texture.  I had bought the fluffy stuff at Christmas to put on snow scenes, and after Christmas I didn't think I'd use it again until I start making 2011's Christmas cards later in the year, but it is perfect for clouds too, and gives loads of texture. 

The papers are from Robyn's Fetish Coney Island Summer range, and I've used my new lacey circles nesties (of course!) for both the image and the sentiment.  The sentiment is one I created especially for this card, which is going to be for my M-I-L.  However, if you want to have it too, then I'm happy to share it as another freebie (see below).


I've finished my card off with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, and of course my 'diamonds' which are lovely little self adhesive silver gems that look like little diamonds (if only they were!), and I've blinged the card up to the max with them to give loads of extra sparkle!  Hope my M-I-L likes my Patsy Fairy card!
