Blossom

I've had a few days away in Sheffield visiting the outlaws, but am back now and missing my crafting! I've dug out an image which I don't think I've used before called Golden Nector by Sugar Nellie which is perfect for the new challenge which starts today at the Sugar Bowl.

There's also a dies and/or punches challenge starting today at In The Pink so I've used a stitched circle nesting die as well as a Cottage Cutz Blossom Branch die which has only had a few outings since I had to buy it a few years ago.  I think it's perfect for the floral themed image and papers.

I've printed a curved sentiment onto vellum and tucked it behind the image panel and popped some pearl dots and white gel pen into the flower centres to give them some definition.

Nutty Friend

I'm a bit nervous today as it's my first Copic blogpost since my lesson with the lovely Faye last week. Eeeek! I've used an image from Sugar Nellie but I can't find it in the shop now so I think she may be retired which is a shame.  I was quite pleased with how she turned out so I made her the focus on an uber CAS layout. I hope you like her. :0)  She's supporting the new challenge a Sugar Bowl this month, and also the 'favourite occasion' challenge at As You Like It Challenge.  I've chosen a 'friend' theme as I think 'just because' cards are nice to send, ie for no other reason than I'm thinking of you. :0)

There's no shell like home

Today's card is my one of the few 'fussy' cards I've made so far this year. I must admit that I'm a bit of a convert when it comes to the CAS card styles, and they are very much growing on me, but I do still like the effort that goes into creating an embellished card and I think it really sets them apart from the flat mass produced cards you can find in most shops.  This layout is one of my favourites, with the two papers, ribbon, a double bow, and two little arrays of blooms in opposite corners. Plus of course, some pearls!

This project is to jointly support the challenge at As You Like It Challenge and Sugar Bowl Challenges which both start today.

A Little bit of Gossip

This project is to support the new challenges at both As You Like It Challenge and The Sugar Bowl Challenge as they're both Anything Goes this time, so I've been lazy and used a Sugar Nellie image on my AYLI card!  I've used a simple layout and my new(ish) stitched scalloped die with a spot of twine and a flower die.  I wanted to make the fairy's wings look opaque, but I'm not sure I really achieved it!

Hello Bunny

There's a new challenge at The Sugar Bowl and I've chosen to use this Scrapberry Bunny called Plum. The papers are actually from a Christmas pad, but are quite versatile so I've used them here too. The layout is simple, a bit like this post!

Cherry

Today's the start of the new challenge at The Sugar Bowl and they're having a DT call too, so there's twice the reason to pop over.

For my DT card, I've created a fruity number using Cherry from Scrapberry.  I love these bunnies!

Sweetest Wishes

The new challenge this week at As You Like It Challenge is to choose either sweet or savoury, and there's no question as to what my favourite is.  To be honest it's primarily chocolate (untainted by fruit, nuts or other "unnecessaries") but then I'm rather partial to cake too (chocolate, coffee, lemon drizzle, even carrot cake, but again I'll pass on the fruit cake!).

There's also a new challenge over at Sugar Bowl, so I've chosen a really 'sweet' fairy image called 'let's eat cake'.  It's a really clean and simple layout, and I tempted fate by finishing my card completely before stamping the sentiment, but luck was on my side, and it gave a clean image.

Frozen?

I've not coloured this princess before and I'll admit that the skirt was a bit daunting.  I think I need to try her again, but for now she's staying put.

I love this simple layout, which uses a strip of ribbon to cover the join between two backing papers, and a bow with a pearl brad to hold it on at the side.  I also love the simple method of adding a sentiment, and the flowers and pearls.  I use this layout quite a bit in different guises.

This project is to support the favourite layout challenge at As You Like It Challenge & also the new challenge at Sugar Bowl which both start today.

Say "Cheese"

I've got a CAS card to share today, using a cute bunny from Scrapberry's.  It's quite a masculine card which is a rarity from me! It supports the new Sugar Bowl Challenge and also the Fur or Feathers challenge at As You Like It Challenge which both start today.

For me the choice is definitely fur;  Although we did used to keep some chickens who had some fabulous characters, I'm generally not very keen on fluttery things.  There are a lot of seagulls and pigeons around where I live which are real pests.  I do quite like our resident robin red-breast, but generally prefer cute and furry, like bunny wabbits!

Xmas Fairies - Pink and Green

You may recall a few weeks ago I posted two pink and blue Christmas cards using images from Funky Kits.  Well I've got another two, this time in pink and green, and using another two images. They're supporting the new "anything goes" challenge at the Sugar Bowl Challenge which starts today.

  • Creative Inspirations - Your Favourite (colour pink, fave CAS layout & die, Maja Design papers) - I liked the finished card so much that I made a pair!

Xmas Fairies - Blue & Pink

I've got not one, but two Christmas fairy cards to share today, both on the same theme, but using different images.  I love these sweet fairy images from Sugar Nellie, and I think they deserve to be the centre of attention.  I've also used my two favourite colours, pink and blue.  Don't forget to pop over to the Sugar Bowl Challenge to enter the 'anything goes' challenge which starts today.

Cherry

I love these cute bunnies from Scrapberries.  I've got a few of the girlie ones after receiving a couple from a lovely blogging friend for Christmas and becoming hooked!  This one's a real sweetie with her bowl of cherries.  It looks like she's dropped one though!  She supports the new challenge at Sugar Bowl Challenge which opens today.

Walkies

Today's card is the first inking of a Xmas gift from a lovely blogging pal.  I've coloured her in Copics and added some clouds with my shimmer chalks.  The papers were so pretty that I didn't want to cover them up, so the embellies are minimal.  I thought they looked a bit vintagey so I used lace instead of ribbon for a change and think it looks much softer.

This project is to support the challenge at Sugar Bowl and also there's a new challenge at As You Like It Challenge.

Bunny Bag

I love little gift bags and boxes, and I've made this roll-bag from ShapeEZ a few times now. It's really easy to make and stick together.

This gift baggie was made to support the Sugar Bowl Anything Goes Challenge and also the As You Like It Challenge where we're making anything but a card.

Autumn Leaves

The new Anything Goes challenge starts at the Sugar Bowl today, and this project features not only a cute piece of rubber from Sugar Nellie, but also supports the new challenge at As You Like It Challenge where you need to say if you prefer matt or shiny.  Although O do use mirri card occasionally, as well as finding it hard to photograph I do prefer to colour coordinate my cardstock to my image (I think I've got an OCD issue!).  I also prefer pearls to rhinestones as accessories. Therefore it's definitely a matt choice for me :0)

Sugar Nellie Fairy Glen Clock

It's time (geddit!) for another clock.

Ok, I'll get my coat!

This one features a Fiary Glen image from Sugar Nellie on a brown clock base.  I've decorated the clock base with flowers, twine, a button, pearls and a tad of glitter.  The flower stamps are from Card-io.  If you want to try making one of these clocks the template is a freebie with a tutorial (click here).

There's a new challenge at The Sugar Bowl starting today (we're starting it a couple of days early as we thought you'd be a bit busy on Thursday opening all your new crafting stash!) so we hope you get some time over the next 4 weeks to join in.

Christmas Fairy

I really love purple at Christmas, and a lot of my favourite Christmas cards this year seem to feature this colour!  So why change the habit!  Here's another Sugar Nellie fairy, the adorable 'Gift Wrapping' from the Fairy Glen range.  There's a new challenge starting today at The Sugar Bowl Challenge so I hope you will join us this month.

Sugar Nellie Fairy Cake

This was totally unplanned because I made the two cards weeks apart, but today's card has some striking similarities to the card I posted on Sunday night....
  • They both feature adorable Sugar Nellie Fairy Glen images.
  • They use the same paper (I think it was even from the same sheet of reversible 12" cardstock).
  • The sentiments on both are banner shaped and in the top left corner.
  • Lastly, I meant to pop some pearls on each, but forgot on both versions!
Weird huh?

Anyhoo, today's project is to support the new challenge at the Sugar Bowl.  I've kept the design really simple to showcase the pretty fairy.  She's one of my new ones and I think this is her first inking.

There's a generous splashing of Wink of Stella to give her wings some sparkle, but it's so hard to photograph.  It is there though, honest!

Hmm, I wonder why I am hankering for a slice of coffee sponge cake right now!  :0)

Sweet as Sugar

Today's card is my first as a Sugar Bowl Sweetie and features lots of my favourite things.

I've used one of my favourite images 'A Little Bit of Gossip' from Funky Kits.  To be honest I love all their Fairy Glen images, but I have probably used this one more than most, so that must qualify as a favourite!

I've also used my current favourite papers from Maja Design, and a stitched circle stax die that I have become a little bit addicted to since buying!

This project supports the 'Anything Goes' challenge at The Sugar Bowl as well as our new 'favourite digi' challenge at As You Like It Challenge,  (Although for all you rubber fans, this little fairy was also produced in rubber, but is currently out of stock at Funky Kits)

Here's a little close up of my fairy which shows the sparkle on her wings a wee bit better...
