Under the Sea

I made this card for my bestie's birthday earlier this month.  It took quite a bit of inking, and by the end of it my fingertips were blue!  I don't think I've used this stamp before, so it was lovely to use something new and I really enjoyed the green and blue theme.  The sentiment is spot on too!

Pink Glittered Birthday

There's a distinct lack of watercolouring from me today, and instead I'm sharing a bright bold glittery neon pink die-cut card!!!

I've cut the letters using my huge CC Designs alphabet and arranged them in a quirky pattern (mostly so they fit onto the slimline cardbase!) and created two layers of outline using my Silhouette machine.

The cardbase is embossed and layered again onto pink before finally laying on the cardbase.

Tiny Christmas

My current favourite embossing folder is a slimline holly folder and it's not big enough for a full 6" x 6" cardbase, so I've embossed the top two-thirds and left the bottom third for the stamped sentiment.

I've watercoloured a Santa stamp from the Tiny Christmas set and used the matching die to cut him out and raise him on foam pads to lift him above my embossed layer.  I've used some satin ribbon to cover up the edge of the embossed section.

  • Greens: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn
  • Sack: Tea Dye, Vintage Photo

  • Greys: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot

Blossom Tag

We're looking at hair colour today at As You Like It Challenge, and want to know if you prefer colouring blonds or brunettes.  As a brunette myself (ignoring the invading greys!) my go-to colours are automatically the browns. My default colours are Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs and I actually find blonds quite difficult to colour as they seem to end up getting darker as I add more layers!

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Hair: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs
  • Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick
  • Greens: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint
  • Blues: Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire
  • Yellows: Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed
  • Oranges: Fossilised Amber, Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge
  • Reds: Candied Apple, Barn Door, Aged Mahogany
  • Ground: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot

Foxy Gifts

I've got a couple of birthdays coming up and have bought some boozy presents that I wanted to decorate for gifting.  I've used Foxes as the image on some wine tags and wrapped the bottles with turquoise tissue paper and wired white ribbon.

  • Fox: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
  • Grass: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss

Dragon Bookmarks

I've made a couple of simple bookmarks from some mountboard. I've cut it into slim rectanlges and rounded the corners, then decorated it with pretty papers and a stamped image. I've doodled stitching around the panels and added some button twine through a punched hole at the top as a kind of tassel.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Dragons: Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Worn Lipstick, Milled Lavender, Wilted Violet, Dusty Concord
  • Greys: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot

Foxy Hearts

For Hubby's Valentines Day card this year I made a scalloped stepper (which was harder than I'd anticipated to get those pesky folds in the right place) and decorated it with my adorably cute CC Designs Foxes.  The heart dies are pieces from a larger die. I've doodled stitching around each of the panels for a bit of added interest as I've kept the embelishments light.

Snow White

I was itching to colour this little sweetie when she landed on my doormat and I've kept the layout really clean and simple to let her take the limelight.  I was really pleased with how she turned out, especially cos she was made for my bestie, so she needed to be what I call 'a warm-glow card'!

I'm on a mission to make Christmas cards throughout the year so I don't have a shortfall by the time I get to December.  This one's using a CC Designs bear that I couldn't resist.

Christmas Together

So I'm still in Christmas mode this week!  I recently bought this image and thought it would be a good idea to colour these little pingu friends in pink rather than grey!

Meow to You

Yellow isn't usually one of my go-to colours but I wanted to get into the spirit of Spring sunshine with this cute kitty card.  It's also pretty appropriate because today marks a whole year since our gorgeous furbaby JB came into our lives after we had to say a tearful goodnight to Arnie.

JB may be the naughtiest kitty that I've ever had the honour of being a slave to, but I wouldn't change him for the world.  Case in point, he celebrated his anniversary by bringing home a pigeon for us.  Goodness knows how he squeezed it through the cat-flap because they're pretty big birds.  That'll be a fragrant surprise for the bin-men next week when they lift the wheelie-bin lid!

Big Monster Kisses

I've got Yeti more Yetis to share today in the form of a pair of cuties bringing big monster kisses to a special friend.  I've opted for purples for these two - aren't they abominably cute!

Rockabilly Tag

There's a new challenge at As You Like It Challenge this week and we want to know if you prefer buttons or pearls.  I'm definitely a pearls gal; I love their soft lustre and I have packs of them in every possible colour!  I've added them in little trios on my over-sized tag in a couple of different sizes.  It's very girlie with the pinks and flowers which suits the cute image.  I've even added some extra pearls on a string amongst the flowers.
