Rosie Rabbit

The pretty papers are the inspiration for this card, so I've carried them into the image and embellishments.

Pink and blue are definitely my two favourite colours, and although I've never really thought of them as a Christmas duo, they do seem to work quite well.

I've used a lovely corner die, but the snow flourish die didn't seem to fit very well, so I've chopped bits off and popped them under the image, peeking out to the side.

Initially I actually thought the image was for a birthday, but then I saw the poinsettia, so I've ensured the festive theme is clear with the Christmas sentiment and snowflake die cuts.


And I've got some sad news, because The Stamp Basket is closing down at the end of October.   There is a closing down sale, so if you want to grab a crafty bargain, then pop over to the sale, but be quick, because once it's gone, it's gone for good!

Bear and Kittens

It's Friday again (it feels a long time coming this week for some reason) and to get me in the mood for the weekend I've used my favourite colour and an image of a bear and kittens.

In my honest opinion you can't generally go wrong with either teddies or kittens, so by incorporating both in one place (with a small splattering of pink) surely that is a perfect recipe to get the weekend off to a great start, right?

Simply Sporty

With the World Cup kicking off this week, I've had another attempt at a masculine card.  This time it follows a topical footie theme and I've tried hard to stay away from floral papers, with striped papers seeming like a safer option.  And although I've used ribbon, I've knotted it rather than tied a bow.

Ok, I admit that I've sneaked a little trio of pearls in the corner, but I was just itching to put something there, and couldn't resist!

Gardening "Fun"

Footie

I'm back to C&S mode, but today it's almost out of necessity because I've made a (kind of) masculine card featuring Stampavie's Sporty image of a cute footie bear.  It's also nice and flat for posting!  Although it's a sporty theme, I think the papers are still really pretty, even though I've steered clear of florals! :0)

Alex in the Snow with Puppies

I'm still on a mission to make my Christmas cards throughout the year, so I've got another one to share today.  This one is a cute Stampavie image of a little boy and puppies.  I've teamed it with some of my favourite Silent Night papers, and some die cuts.  The die cuts were originally cut in white, but I've coloured the lamp in brown copic, and then popped some orange card behind the cut outs, and given the orange some sparkle with some shimmer gel pens.

Heart to Heart

Today's project turned out to be a mini collection of heart shaped notelets.  I wanted to create some little notecards that could secretly slip into a lunch bag or coat pocket of someone special, so that it might be found later as a little surprise on a long day!  :0)

I love the shape of this heart, it's a lovely chubby heart, and creates quite a bit of space inside, perhaps enough for a mini poem!  I cut one heart "on the fold" so that it was a tent-fold heart card, and then folded the top in half again to create an easel.  I then cut another single heart in the same pink card and stuck it to the top to finish the easel shape.

I made a couple and decorated each one differently for a little variety.  A few of you will remember that I recently purchased the Nottingham Border die, and have been overusing loving it.  Well, the flowers on the first notelet are actually the bits that it cuts out (I didn't discard them) and so I'm getting even more value for money out of the die as it doubles up as a gorgeous flower die too, which I've layered up with a pearl in the middle.  :0)

They were so quick to make, and can then be stood up on the recipient's desk as a little reminder of your note!




Next, I used another heart, again cut on the fold at the top, and created a little tag that could be tied on a little valentines gift.  The image was actually part of a much larger image, but I cut off the big heart that the bear was carrying, and replaced it with a smaller die-cut heart instead.  I punched a hole in the corner, and threaded some pretty vintage pink ribbon to create the tag tie.

I've inked around all of my hearts, on all the projects with darker pink ink pad to define the edge.

Floating

This image might be quite appropriate for the recent weather we've had in the UK, and we've certainly been making good use of our brollies over the last few weeks.  The image is called 'floating down the river', and I've used aqua coloured magnolia papers and blue accessories.

Little Love Bear

I know it's only January, so a little way away from Valentines yet, but as it's dismal outside, I fancied making something to brighten the mood.

This little bear is called Little Love Bear and I quite fancy a little bit of what he's carrying as it looks like a box of chocs to me!  Although to be fair, I've probably had more chocolate than I should have done since Christmas!   :0)

Dotty Bunny

I was looking for papers to use for this image, and found two in my stash that were so alike it was uncanny.  The main paper on the base card is larger pink dots on red paper (Wild Rose Studio Bella's Birthday), and the strip across the middle, with the lace and twine, is Nitwit Joyful Hearts pink dot paper.  I thought they complemented each other quite well, although in theory the Nitwit one is actually from a Christmas set.

I've used a bit of white lace, but otherwise, all the embellishments are red.  With the red and green colour scheme, it could probably have been a Christmas card, if it weren't for the sentiment.  But this one's a birthday card for a friend whose birthday is in a few weeks.  Hope she likes it! :0)

Sleeping on the Moon

I've got a little baby boy card to share today following a sketch I found which seemed quite suitable for a male themed cards without too many embellishments.  Despite that, I've managed to sneak in some pearls and ribbon, as well as a couple of buttons with embroidery thread bows.

The image is a sweetie called Sleeping on the Moon and the gorgeous papers are from Graphic 45.  I stitched around both the inner panels and added some stickles to the moon, raising the image up on foam pads.

Believe in your Dreams

Today's card features a cute little sleeping baby on the moon, and I've used a sentiment that I thought matches the image which says 'Believe in your dreams'!

The gorgeous papers are Wild Rose Studio from The Stamp Basket, who currently have a summer sale on at the moment.  The aqua ribbon matches the papers really beautifully, and I also found a bit of really narrow dark purple ribbon which I think was snipped off from the inside shoulder of a dress (you know the loops that are meant to hold it on a clothes hanger, but all they do is poke out the neckline when you're wearing it).

I've sneaked in a couple of precious stars which I thought matched the hanging star on the image.  A few flowers and of course some pearls, and that's it.  Voilà!

Michel

I've not used many Sarah Kay images, but that's what I've got to share with you today, and this little fella is rather sweet.  He's called Michel and I've made a centre step card to showcase him.  I think the card shape really makes him the focal point.
