Xmas in March, and a lesson to learn in sewing

I won the 'star of the month' at CRAFT challenges last month and the prize is a Guest Designer spot for the month, so here I am with my first creation in support of the challenge which starts today.  The theme is Xmas in March and we're sponsored by Kenny K, Doodle Dragon Studio, Flonz Craft and Digital Delights.

I've used a saucy Kenny K image called Mistletoe and added a typed sentiment which I think goes well with the image.  It's been a while since I made an easel card too, so I've cut out a scalloped circle with a Go Kreate die, and used a red colour scheme.

One of my 2013 New Year Resolutions was to include stitching on my cards, but I think I need to have a 'get out clause' when I'm using fancy shapes, and in that category I would include circles.  My sewing machine does not have a speed control setting, so it's either stopped, or at full pelt, which makes navigating around shapes really difficult.  I could use the hand turning control thingy, but I'm too impatient and my foot finds the pedal too easily!!!  There were only a couple of wobbles, but they're all I can see when I look at the finished project!!!  My old machine had a speed setting so I could slow it right down.  I didn't think of it when I got my new machine last summer, but I miss it now I've not got it!! LOL

Anyway, hope you like my card, and I look forward to seeing your Christmas creations on the CRAFT challenge blog.

Trinket Box

This fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is Kids/Teens so I've made a little trinket box which I think would be great for a teenage girlie.  I made the box using a strip of card stuck down onto a die cut oval and then covered the sides with satin ribbon.  The top is made exactly the same, except slightly larger so that it fits over the base with ease.  Simples !

Have a Craft-tastic Christmas

Woohoo, I'm a guest designer today with my old teamies at the Incy Wincy Challenge Blog.  The challenge theme is "Girl Power" (how could I resist!!!) and we're sponsored by Kenny K digis.

The sentiment reads "Have a Craft-tastic Christmas".

Yup, it is (yet) another Christmas card!!! (well it is only 43 days to go!)

Oh, and you might want to prepare yourself for a small sprinkling of pink ....

Snowflakes & Mrs Claus

There is a new challenge today at 2 Sisters Challenges, and the theme to play along with this week is Snowflakes.  We're sponsored by KennyK who has kindly supplied some digi images for the design team to showcase.  I added sparkle to her hat, boots and dress, and also there is lots of Stickles on the snowflakes too.
