Pop Up Winter Card

I've got a bit confused.  When I was planning this card I thought it was for my ABC Christmas DT so I chose a wintery theme, but it's actually meant to be for my Top Tip Tuesday challenge, which this fortnight is moving parts or pop-up.

Oh well, you can never be too prepared for Christmas, right?

D'oh!!!

My pop up card uses 3 images and 3 tree dies to create a scene.  The pop up effect was actually easier than I thought.  I decorated the base card, cut out the stage and stuck it on, then inserted the stands for the figures and finally glued them onto their stands.

I added some torn 'snow', glitter and some snowflakes.

When the top folds down, the stage is pushed forward and all the characters fold flat.

Grace

I've got another cutie today from The Stamp Basket featuring Grace.  I've used a pink and green colour scheme and one of my favourite dies, the Lavish Branch.  I've also used some gems on this one instead of my usual pearls, and glamour dust on her wings and dress to give some sparkle.  The pretty pink shiny papers are printed on both sides so I've used the bit left over from the main front and flipped it for the raised panel, and finished off the layout with a button and twine.

It's also the last few days of the Stamp Basket Mega Spring Sale so pop over there for some last minute bargains.  Full details on the Stamp Basket Blog.  The sale ends on Tuesday morning.

Mimi Stars Baggie

StampFairy are sponsoring Totally Papercrafts this week so I've made a project to support the challenge, which is Flowers and Lace.   I've decorated a bag in springtime colours, and featured Mimi Stars.  I've used a Doily Lace punch, but also used proper lace for my bow.  There are flowers on the ribbon, and also some orange mulberry paper flowers around the image.

Here's a close up of the front.  I paper pieced Mimi's dress and shoes, but then used my copics to shade where her arms would cast a shadow.

And here is a picture of the contents. The bag was the perfect size for this Easter treat, and this one was for my MIL.  Cute huh!!

Possibly too cute to eat.

Well, almost!

    Flower Fairies

I'm back with my second card from the new release at Wee Stamps and today's card features the new image, Flower Fairies.  I've opted for a purple theme today but again used my favourite papers, lavish branch die and a sketch that I've used a couple of times already and love every time I use it.

    Santa's Little Helpers

We're half way through the 'H for Holiday Helpers' at ABC Christmas Challenge so I've got a card to share with you.  Reindeer are Santa's holiday helpers, right?

I've stamped my image onto stamping linen and coloured with alcohol markers.  I've opted for a traditional red and green colour theme.  The sentiment was typed and printed, but I wrote over it with a Sakura Stardust gel pen for added sparkle.

    Rosetta

April's new release at Wee Stamps is now available and I'm lucky enough to be showcasing some of the new designs over the next couple of days in my capacity as guest designer for this month.

Today's card features Rosetta, sitting amongst the flowers.  I've used all my favourite things on today's card, favourite colours (pink and aqua), favourite Papermania papers, my Lavish Branch die, some paper flowers, shiny pearls and gorgeous ribbon.

The new stamps will be available as digital images at the Wee Stamps store from today, and the rubber versions will be released tomorrow.

    Say it isn't Sew ...

We're half way through this fortnight's Top Tip Tuesday challenge of 'Say it isn't sew' so you have to do some faux stitching on your card.  I must admit that I am not keen on doing faux stitching as I think I don't do it very well, but here goes my mid-way reminder ...

    Tilly with Rose

Well I think I've recovered from the 'trauma' of yesterday (refer to yesterday's post if you wonder that trauma I was suffering!).   My card for The Stamp Basket today features a cute Wild Rose Studio image of Tilly with Rose.  I've also used the gorgeous rich burgundy satin ribbon again because when I used it last week I realised how much I love it and it seems to match really well with the pretty papers.

I've used the gorgeous Pine Needles die again and of course my favourite Lavish Branch.  I think the green really compliments the rich burgundy ribbon.

    Hope you like it.

    Best Buddies

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy and it's theme is Barry Best Buddies.  I've taken a leaf out of the talented Squirrel's book and attempted a clean and simple approach.

I think that other people's C&S creations look great, so I wanted to have a go, but I really don't feel comfortable making them.  It just feels unfinished to me!!

    No pretty papers.
    No flowers.
    No ribbons.
    No dies.

I'm off to lie down and recover from my withdrawal symptoms!

      Purple Leaves

The theme today at Top Tip Tuesday is faux stitching.  I'm actually a big fan of real stitching on my cards, so this one was a real challenge for me as I'm not sure I've got the hang of the faux stitching, but that's half the fun of the challenge!

      Holly

I've used Holly from Wee Stamps for today's card, and again I've printed her onto Stamping Linen.   She's been coloured with copics and the clouds are shimmer chalks.  The papers are not specifically Christmassy, but the base layer is glittered, and I've added some snowflake die cuts.  The sentiment was typed and printed, but I've inked over it with my Sakura Stardust Gel pens.

      Apple Blossom

My card for The Stamp Basket today showcases Apple Blossom from Whimsy Stamps.  I was really pleased with it when I'd finished, but now I look at it, it could be more of an autumnal card with the apple harvest and rich burgundy and greens.  Still, we've not exactly got springtime weather, so no harm done!! LOL

      Easter Baggie

StampFairy are sponsoring Friday Sketch Challenge this week, and so I've made a project in support of the challenge.   I've used the sketch to decorate a baggie that I used for an Easter present for a friend.

      Here's my decorated baggie :

The paper on the main part of the front was shiny, and I used a kind of fibre-type paper for the panel under the image.

And here's a picture of what went inside the finished bag:

Finally, here is the sketch that I followed.  I rotated it 90 degrees so the scallops were at the top.
