George, George, George and George.

Wow, I can't believe that it's October tomorrow.  The nights are getting darker earlier, and it'll soon be Christmas!!

On the subject of Christmas, there is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy called George Stars featuring the lovely George Snowman.

I've combined my new Starry George with a few more 'George' images, creating a little row of mischievous Georges!

I hope you like my little snowman scene.

    Sleeping on the Moon

I've got a little baby boy card to share today following a sketch I found which seemed quite suitable for a male themed cards without too many embellishments.  Despite that, I've managed to sneak in some pearls and ribbon, as well as a couple of buttons with embroidery thread bows.

The image is a sweetie called Sleeping on the Moon and the gorgeous papers are from Graphic 45.  I stitched around both the inner panels and added some stickles to the moon, raising the image up on foam pads.

    Mountain Lily

My card for The Stamp Basket today features a cute little Wee Stamps image called Mountain Lily.  I managed to mess up the main image, so I "fussy cut" her out again and layered her on top of my main image on foam pads which actually gave the card more dimension.  Considering it was a mistake, it didn't turn out too bad.

"Step away from the glossy card, and no-one gets hurt ...."

I've got a masculine card to share today.

And in case the masculine theme wasn't enough to inhibit my mojo, I also tried out some new glossy stamping card.  OMG, it was so hard to colour.  The alcohol ink refused to blend at all, and my Stazon smudged too.  I'll definitely not be using that card again.

To encourage my mojo to resurface, I used a sweet little Sugar Nellie image from Funky Kits called Aviator.  I couldn't resist this cute little critter when I saw him used on a card by the lovely Lisa (Wishcraft).  She coloured her version a lot better than I did, but I'm going to blame a small part of that on the glossy card.

This card's for my FIL's birthday (which is today!) so "Many Happy Returns" to Peter.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure he actually likes planes.

    Or hedgehogs, (according to hubby).

But apart than that, I'm sure he'll appreciate a handmade card.  :0)

(it's not my fault that men don't appreciate pink and girlie, because that's far more my style!!!)

    Giving Away

Today's card is a bit less colourful than Saturday's Nellie Snellen card, although I have sneaked a bit of pink into the image.  The matting and die cuts are all in silver mirror card, and I've used another of my cute little Nellie Snellen images.  This one's called Giving Away.

Sugar Nellie Baggie and Stamping Linen

It's been a while since I used my Stamping Linen, so I thought I'd dig it out again, since I love it when I use it.  Also, instead of using it on a card I used it on a fabric baggie, also decorating it with some red ribbon ('saved' from a chocolate box), some vintage style lace, some flower ribbon, and a small crocheted flower, with a button centre.

I also stamped the baggie with my lovely Stampendous Ruffled Bloom stamp which was a gift from my lovely blogpal Samantha (thanks honey).  I stamped it in bright red ink to match the colour scheme of my image and accessories.

I also used stardust gel pens on the pretty fairy to give her some sparkle.  The stamping linen is frayed at the edges to show that it is fabric not card.  The frayed edges also give it some interest.

Here's a close up of the main part of the baggie:

And here's a view of the whole baggie:

    Hokey Pokey

Today's card is a Christmas themed, but not traditional Christmas colours, but I think it looks festive and magical with the little fairy image. I really love these cute Nellie Snellen images, and I've teamed my little fairy with some sparkle and a lovely ornament die from Whimsy.  I hope you like my contemporary Christmas card.

    Noteworthy

Stampfairy are sponsoring Charsima Cardz challenges today so I've made a little project to join in as a guest with the team.  The theme is 'favourite colours' so there's no excuse not to join in.  Of course my favourite colours are baby pink and aqua blue.  Instead of a card, I've decorated a small spiral notepad.

The notepad was pink to start with, so I just added a panel of pink patterned paper, matted onto aqua blue card to provide some interest.  I also matted the image onto aqua blue card, and added a 'Notes' sentiment which I wrote in blue Sakura stardust pen to add some sheen.

    Carolling Trio

The theme today at As You Like It Challenge is your favourite sentiment, and since my favourite occasion is Christmas, it's got to be a festive sentiment for me.  My favourite sentiment would either be Merry Christmas, or Winter Wishes, but as I used Winter Wishes yesterday, I decided to opt for just a plain Merry Xmas today.  The sentiment was typed, die cut, and then written over with a stardust pen to make it shimmer.

    Squirrel Snack

The letter today at ABC Christmas Challenge is S, and you can choose either sketch or stocking.

Guess which one I chose!!  :0)

I've just bought this image and so I was keen to give it an inking!!  Brace yourself as I've been on a bit of a minimalistic drive with my new images, so this project just has a smudge of ribbon and lace.

And because it's a Christmas image I also added a sprinkling of glitter (well, it's considered a crime not to add some sparkle on a Christmas card, right?).

    Bare Feet

The theme today at Top Tip Tuesday is 'get in shape' so I've dug out my lovely new Go Kreate Frames again.  I know I've brought it out a few times in the last couple of weeks, but I really like it.

Because of the fancy shape, I've kept the design quite simple (well this is minimalistic for me!) and also taken the chance to use one of my lovely embossed Papermania papers.  This is actually one of the papers that I've used the least from the pad, but it's really pretty, and a gorgeous lilac colour.

I cut out the deep purple oval border around the image by eye because I don't have any oval dies, so don't look too closely as it's a bit uneven!

    Autumn Colours

Stampfairy are sponsoring Craft Your Passion today, so I've made some little gift pouches to support the challenge.  As the challenge theme is 'Autumn Colours', these ones are orange and brown.

I don't tend to send Halloween cards, but instead I make little pouches containing treats for the kids who come around in the evening.  The trouble is that I think most of them now expect money as their treat, so they're a bit disappointed when I produce a bowl containing my candy pouches, despite the effort I go to for them!!

The pouch template is one I created from opening up a food packaging box, scanning it into my computer, resizing it to fit onto an A4 page, converting it to a transparent png file, and digitally paperpiecing the papers and sentiment onto it before printing it out.  I then just had to print it out, score and fold it to create the pouch, and then decorate it with a little bow, my image and some liquid pearls.

    Chocolate cake, anyone?

Today's card is using my Wild Rose Studio Vintage Rose papers again (I'm really loving this pad).  The ribbon is also a gorgeous chocolate brown, but it looks kind of black in the photo.  :0(

I messed up cutting out the image as a circle panel, so ended up fussy-cutting out the image and layering it directly on the chocolate brown panel so that it popped out of the card.

    Chocolate Cherries

Today's card is cherry and chocolate themed, both in terms of colour and image.  The papers are some of my favourites from Wild Rose Studio called Vintage Rose, and the image is also Wild Rose Studio.

The ribbon is actually recycled from a box of chocolates that my MIL gave me when she visited in the summer.  I'm afraid to say that the chocolates didn't last very long, but I did keep the ribbon for some crafting!

Squirrel Mania for Friday the 13th

I'm on my Clean and Simple drive again today, and have 2 similar cards to share.  (I liked the first one so much that I made another with only a slight variation!)

These little LOTV squirrel critters are just the cutest and seemed to just cry out to be the centrepiece of the card.  I stitched the rectangle image panel onto some green card, and then embossed the square base card with Swiss Dots for some added interest.

Yup, they don't come much simpler than today's card.  I cased a fab card on Jen's blog.

By the way, can anyone confirm that this is a 'winter' image because hubby's first reaction was 'is that a birthday card?'.

    It's definitely winter themed, right???

The first version (above) featured a strip of thin forest green ribbon across the bottom of the image panel, and the second version substituted green twine instead of the ribbon.

I think I actually prefer the twine version.

OMG, did I just say that I prefer twine to ribbon???

I'm off to wash out my mouth with soap.  :0)

    Bunny Wabbits

I found this cute little image in my stash and although I'm really not a fan of the colour green, once I'd picked the bunny image, the papers seemed to be 'calling'.

So it was to be green!

Once I was on the 'green' road, everything became green!  The die cuts were cut in white card, and coloured with copic colour YG45 and topped off with a few white pearls.  I added a pretty sheer green ribbon, and a few more white pearls on the corner and the shaped base, a spot of stitching around the image, and some white and green flowers.  Finally, I edged the whole card with some green ink to give the edges some definition.

      Santa Stop Here

      ***  IMPORTANT NEWSFLASH ***

In case anyone is concerned when they see my project today, let me firstly put your mind at rest :

My blog hasn't been hijacked by some unknown crazed crafter.

I've not mislaid my shoebox full of mulberry flowers (well it's a 'boot box' really cos it's HUGE).

My pile of gorgeous designer papers have not been shredded by the cat.

Nor have I lost my boot-box of satin ribbons (trust me, you need a BIG box to accommodate every shade of the rainbow in various widths of satins!).

My plastic pots full of pearls, brads and buttons are intact.

My dies are safely stored in their various (themed and labelled) magnetic folders.

My Big Shot's not bust, and my temperamental printer hasn't refused to print today (although I could be tempting fate by even hinting at that).

      Nope, none of that.

I've just been looking at some of the crafters that I visit often, and realised that so many of them are C&S designs.  So I've decided I'd give this minimalistic lark a serious try with my lovely new LOTV stamps.

So brace yourself; here is the first one I'm sharing (and there will be a few more sprinkled over my blog during the next week or so) ...

      Skunk or Badger?

I've made a little Just For Fun card today using some of my favourite Papermania papers and a new little stamp set that I treated myself to.  I'm not quite sure if the little critter is a skunk or a badger, but either way he's kind of cute.  I created a scene as the skunk, toadstools and mouse are three different stamps in the same set.

Red and Green Tilly wth Flowers

Wow, this is now the 4th day in a row that I've posted something other than a Christmas card!!!  And I'm back to my trusty cute and girlie style too. Phew, it's good to be back in my comfort zone again!

Today's card features Tilly the puppy with a huge bunch of flowers.  I've used a red colour scheme throughout, accenting with some green in the image and the flowers around the edge.

Sun Kissed (but where's the pink?)

Considering I'm not really a fan of the colour green, I have made a couple of green cards lately and quite liked them.  This card is a real change from my usual pink creations, although I have sneaked some purple in there!  I really like these Secret Garden text papers and they inspired the colour scheme.

      Happy Birthday Dadda

It's my dad's birthday today, so I've been forced under duress to make a masculine card (why oh why can't men like pink and glitter).  Ok, I'll admit that it's still a cute image, but there's no pink, no flowers, no glitter, no bows, no gems.  I've used a metallic looking backing paper to matt the layers, and also created a bit of interest with some embossing.

      Barry Stars

StampFairy are sponsoring CRAFT challenge this week and the theme is Christmas, so I've made a little card to support their challenge featuring Barry the bear with a string of sparkly stars.

I've used soft frosty blue papers, with a frostyville border die at the top, and matching snowflake corner dies at the bottom.

I've also used some textured white fancy yarn stretched across one of the panels, and a snowflake charm tied onto it.
