Snowy Nativity Scene

Today's card uses a Wild Rose Studio image from The Stamp Basket called Nativity Play.  I've used a Whimsy Holiday Notables sentiment stamp and matching shaped Notables 1 Die. These are just amazing as they look fabulous in their fancy shapes.  I also am using the Memory Box Poppy Stamps Die Antique Lamp Post for the first time which I think is perfect for a traditional type of card.  I've given it a bit of highlight with a white gel pen.  The gorgeous Red Satin Ribbon really shows up the pretty pearl brad which holds it on the card base and I've sneaked in a red pearl onto the snowflake.  Just one pearl for me is amazing. Usually they're splattered all over my cards so this required real restraint on my part !!  Hope you like my card.

Mimi Winter, and erm, some pastel red?

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy called Mimi Christmas.  And she's a real sweetie decorating her Christmas Tree.

To make a change from all the pink I've been using lately, today's card is ...

... erm ...

... hmm...

... pastel red?

Oh dear, I think I'm addicted to pink.  Do I need therapy? (be nice!)

I've also used my (current) favourite Memory Box Corner Bow die from The Stamp Basket and I've glittered up my flowers using Stickles

    Food Glorious Good

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is Food & Drink.  I've not got any images involving Christmas Pudding so I've made a birthday card instead which makes a change from all the snowflake dies I seem to have been using lately anyway.

But hey, don't fear ... there's still plenty of pink ...

    Snow Cute Snowflake Box

It's the letter 'W' at the ABC Christmas Challenge which is Wrap it Up.  I've made a little gift box using my Cricut Tags Bags Boxes & More 2 cartridge (it is actually the only cartridge that I have!) and a cute little pingu from LOTV.

    Bloomin' hearts

Stampfairy are sponsoring one of my favourite blogs, Papertake Weekly, this week and I'm lucky enough to be guest designing to support the new challenge of 'blooms'.

It's also the second week of this fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday which is 'hearts' which Stampfairy are also sponsoring, so I've cheated and combined the two on my card for today!

I've used a cute little image of Barry the Bear, holding a string of hearts, and also included a cherish border die cut for my hearts.

I've glittered up the flowers and Barry's wings, used Sakura Stardust gel pens on his nose and hearts and then put Glossy Accents on the top which really makes the stardust pens glisten.

Usually I only cut around shaped cards when I'm using a busy backing paper as it seems to hide any imperfection in my cutting around the scallops, but after I'd added the Cherished Border which was plain white, my unsteady hand was evident. So I covered up the wonky cutting with some Stickles which seemed to work perfectly.

I finished off with some die cut snowflakes topped with pearls, added some Viva pearl drops, and voilĂ  ...

The sentiment reads "Have a Craft-tastic Christmas".

Oh, and you might want to prepare yourself for a small sprinkling of pink ....

    Christmas Teddies

Today's card uses a sweet image from The Stamp Basket.  These little bears are adorable and I've coloured them white, like polar bears in the snow, but they could be brown teddy bears too.

I'm also loving these Memory box scroll dies too, this one is just gorgeous in red, as is the huge poinsettia which I've dotted with a bit of liquid pearls and given a bit of accent with my copics just marking the seams of the leaves and petals.

    Mimi Stars

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy called Mimi Stars.  I've followed a sketch that I liked and given some flowers a bit lot of bling.  I've also done some stitching, but I notice now that it's gone a bit wonky in places.  I'll learn from that not to try to stitch circles in future.

Clean & Simple Kitty (and Special Offer News)

The theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is Bright Colours.  I'm sharing a card that I made for one of my blogging pals, Larissa.  She's my queen of bright colours and "clean & simple" styles, so I tried to make a card which I thought would appeal to her taste rather than my usual 'cover it in embellies' style.

I had initially thought that I'd not done too bad.  And then I saw the number of pearls that I'd added around the edge of the scalloped circle.

Ok, so I think I failed on the C&S approach !!!

There's another fab special offer over at The Stamp Basket.  Starting today there are fantastic discounts off all Wild Rose Studio stamps, paper packs and printed panels.

And this offer includes 10% off all special orders too!

So if you've been disappointed not to be able to attend the NEC Crafting Fair this weekend, why not avoid the crowds, put the kettle on and shop in comfort at The Stamp Basket online store.  It makes so much sense!

      Vibrant Wryn

It's the second week of our 'V for Vibrant Colours' at the ABC Christmas Challenge so I've made a mid-way reminder card to mark the occasion!

I've used non-traditional Christmas colours of blue and purple, but I think they look quite merry!

The papers have holly & poinsettias on them, and I've used a snowflake die and plenty of sparkles and pearls.

      Have a Heart

This fortnight's challenge at Top Tip Tuesday is Hearts.  I've used a cute little image of Barry the Bear from our sponsor Stampfairy.  He's holding a heart, and I've also added a heart banner die cut from Whiff of Joy.

      Remembrance Day Barry

I've seen a couple of challenges today that have caught my eye and even though it's a Monday night when I usually don't have time to craft after work and cooking dinner, I decided to have a quick crafting session.

Once I'd decided what I was going to make (which usually takes me as long as actually making the card) it came together really quickly.  It's Remembrance day this Sunday so I've made a Remembrance themed 'thank you' card using Barry from Stampfairy.

I actually found the flag really hard to colour since I was trying to get the wave in the flag 'fabric', and it ended up just looking a bit wonky!

Being a guy'ish kind of card, I've steered away from lots of embellies, but I couldn't resist a couple of die cuts and a few Viva Pearl Dots !!!

      Autumn Wreath

I wanted to enter a couple of challenges that have caught my eye, so I've made a 'just for fun' card to share this afternoon.

It's also been a while since I made anything other than a Christmas card, so I've made it a birthday card instead.

I really love huge ribbons because I find wide ribbon makes better bows.  It's held on to my card by the brad, which is pushed through the backing paper before it is attached to the card base.  I find it works better than sticking the bow on with wet glue, especially where the bow is quite large.  That's why you'll see lots of these gorgeous brads on my cards.

      Baby Jesus

Today's card uses a sweet image from The Stamp Basket.  I've painted this one with my Distress re-inkers again, but I feel that this time the colours are a bit washed out and pale.  I've bought a new watercolour paper paper pad to try and see if this helps my painting a bit.  Keep watching this space!!! LOL

I also had a small mishap when colouring the image, and I coloured Mary's foot green when I was painting her head scarf.  I couldn't colour it pink then for her foot colour, so instead I pretended she was wearing shoes, and coloured it chocolate brown instead.  I think I will try to colour this image again sometime soon and see if I can improve!

      Minimalistic Owl

There is a new release and freebie today at StampFairy called Funny Owls.  I've used a cute little image and cut him out, stuck him onto a die cut branch and added some snow, and that's it.

This is probably the most C&S card I've ever made.  I'm not sure it's really 'me' but it's nice to be different every now and again.  I've compromised and used a shaped card just to add a bit of interest, and inked around the edge.

The sentiment reads "Owl my love at Christmastime".

        Snow is falling

Hi everyone.  I've been a bit quiet in blogland for a few days and haven't got around to visit everyone. I've had a few days away in Dublin and only had my phone on the hotel wifi, but found it a bit hard to do much with in terms of blogging on the small screen.

The trip was really for a business conference, but I flew over there 2 days early so that I could have a few extra days there to relax before the conference started.  I had a lovely time but spent far too much money shopping.  And none of it was on crafting supplies.  In fact, I didn't even find a crafting shop.  I was getting withdrawal symptoms after a couple of days, so was glad to get back home yesterday evening.

I also have some news to share today about a special offer over at The Stamp Basket store.  It is a year since The Stamp Basket team opened their online shop and to celebrate their first birthday, they are offering you a special free gift, if you spend over £18-99 on any products in store between now and 9-00a.m.  GMT Saturday 3rd November 2012 (offer excludes postage and packing).

So if you would like to know what the gorgeous free gift is and can't wait to find out, then all you need do is pop over to The Stamp Basket facebook page…and while you’re there, why not become a follower and join me in wishing The Stamp Basket a ‘Happy Birthday’!

Anyhoo, the theme this week at Lili's Little Fairies is "Snow is Falling".  I've used the same image as I did for last week's challenge, but made a white themed card, with just a few pink accents.  Hope you like it.
