Dreaming of Spring (and a confession)

Spring may still be a little way off, but today marks the start of a new challenge at Without Words Challenge where the theme is Dreaming of Spring.

I've used my favourite Nottingham Border floral die and a pretty girlie image aptly called Blossom from LOTV, both of which are quite Spring-like.

I've water coloured the image, but this time with my Derwent Inktense pencils which give a softer effect than the DI reinkers (or at least that's how this one has turned out anyway!)

And here's a quick close up of the image.  I outlined her in blue Copic B000;

Oh, and I have a small confession; I've blown my New Year's Resolution with a little splurge at Lili of the Valley.

It was only a small moment of weakness (3 stamps are hardly worthy of corporal punishment, right?) but a weakness nevertheless.

I lasted just 3 days.  3 measly days.

Just like the exercise regime, can I start again tomorrow?

She is such a sweetie hun, and I love the soft colouring. I think 3 stamps from Lili shows remarkable restraint so there will be no punishment, this time. Next time it will be the stocks and a public flogging. Huggles (struggling to stay on the wagon) xx

Wow, can't believe you only got 3 stamps! I think that hardly counts as breaking your resolution does it?!
I also had a little splurge last night and mine was far worse - I spent a LOT of money on new Magnolia Doohickey dies that I have wanted for ages - they are ridiculously expensive but so gorgeous and I know how much I will use them... or how much I will *have* to use them to justify buying them - lol!

Ok, enough about my spending and more about your gorgeous card - another beautiful CAS design and the outlining and pearl dots really make the image pop. The pencil shading looks so good too :-)

Biog hugs, Kat xx

I'm rolling around laughing here at your lapse after only three days!! I've learned never to make that a resolution... cos I hate to fail but know I will!! hehe

Your card is so daintily coloured and so lovely... I love this kind of layout... and you do it so well!

Big hugs

That is so pretty Annette! Love how you used the border. That was a hard challenge for you so three days is brilliant lol.

Sooo pretty Annette ;-) Love the pretty colouring and fabulous design. Aww hun, New Years Resolutions are MEANT to be broken. My no chocolate rule lasted three days and I'm not sure my no new stash rule lasted that long. I am meant to be fat and poor. Biggest hugs, Jayne x

She is beautiful Annette and I love the delicate colours. I agree with Jayne, resolutions are meant to be broken...or not made in the first place!! By the way have you seen the bunnies at Funky Kits...one "fell" into my basket at luchtime while I wasn't looking at the cute Maggie stamps!! xx

Lol... well as long as you use them, that's ok I suppose... my problem is I just keep buying and never quite get round to colouring them, and then I buy another lot! Not buying too many this year though!

Super sweet card, love your soft colouring :o) Hugs, Lisa x

I really think you should go and sit on the naughty step for a whole day!! I would never make that resolution, as I would fail on the first day!!! Mine is to use more of my paper stash and not to much more! I am going to Sandown Craft Fair on the 24th Jan. Do bargains count?!! Love your card and the soft colouring is gorgeous. She is so sweet. Hugs, Carol S.xx

Card is stunning. I know, no additives, very CAS, but it does not need anything more to delight. I especially like the finish dots the beads around girls. Amazing card.

Such a pretty card, love the sweet image. Re the stamps, must try harder lol! I bought three too but just after Christmas so before my resolution so that doesn't count!

Gorgeous card Annette :-) the image is adorable and your colouring and simple design are fabulous :-)

As for crafty spending, 3 stamps don't really count ,,,,, you have to wean yourself off slowly otherwise the consequences could be terrible !! :-)

thanks for joining us on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
