I created the sentiment in Word, using text boxes to overlap the two words, and die cut them out to create the focal centrepiece.
To create your own sentiments in Word, use a separate text box for each word. Consider using different fonts and sizes that match well.
Overlap each word so that they fit together. You can see on my sentiment that part of the 'happy' letters poke down into the top of the 'birthday' letters. To do this, ensure that you have the 'fill' property of your text box set to 'none' so that the overlapped parts are transparent and don't cover up the other letters.
