Together Forever

I'm on a little break from the Christmas cards to share this Golden Wedding anniversary card which I made for my in-laws.  I've used an image that I don't remember using previously but it's so sweet that I couldn't resist.  I've added lots of golden coloured accents and featured my MIL's favourite turquoise.

I'm still playing with a forthcoming new release from Lili of the Valley featuring an adorable set of cute reindeer.  There is a whole herd of these guys in the set and I've created two cards using 4 of the images, masked into pairs. I've teamed them with some of the newly released sentiments too.

Furry Choir

I'm still in festive mode with this adorable trio of critters from Lili of the Valley.  I think this is one of my favourite images from the set, but to be honest, it was actually difficult for me to choose this time as there are so many cuties.

  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs,
  • Tummy fur/music sheets: Hickory Smoke

When the red, red robin comes bob, bob, bobin' along

I've not made many ATCs before some dinky 2.5" by 3.5" cards were ideal to feature some of these cute robins from LOTV.  I've fussy cut them and raised them on foam pads.

The ATC base cards are a glossy hot pink card topped with paler pink snowflake embossed card.

I've used some Christmas themed die cut words in the same glossy pink card.

Of course I then found that it was a pain-the-proverbial to photograph the glossy card without getting a bright reflection!

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:
  • Robins: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick
  • Holly: Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint
  • Present: Work Lipstick, Picked Raspberry, Mowed Lawn
  • Greens: Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Reds: Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick
  • Hats: Worn Lipstick, Hickory Smoke

Christmas Pugs

I've been in Christmas mode lately to create some samples to help promote the soon-to-be-released Christmas images from Lili of the Valley.  There are some fabulous cuties in this set and something to suit everyone.

My first creation features a set of funny little pugs doing a little jiggle!  I've got a few more cards to share over the next week so keep your eyes peeled.

Merry Christmas! ;0)

Bunnies Post Box

We're wanting to know whether you prefer fur or feathers today at As You Like It Challenge.   Although I've got both on my card, I'm definitely a fur kinda gal!  I don't really like things that flutter (although that also includes butterflies and bugs), but furry critters are usually much cuter. I am slave to two furry felines and I love bunnies which I've featured on my card.  The image is 'Bunny Post' from Lili of the Valley.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:
  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo

Spring Fox (in Summer!)

It's a super simple card from me today with the full focus on this cute little fox cub from Whimsy's Lee Holland collection.  I've done a smidgen of doodling around the edge to frame him and layered the image and backing paper onto Kraft card, but otherwise, that's it.  Simples! :0)

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

Happy Christmouse

Well I'm pleased the weekend is finally here. It's only been a short working week for me but still feels like a full week crammed in somehow.  I've been playing with the newly released images from Lili of the Valley and have a couple to share with you over the next week or so.  This one is called Happy Christmouse.

I've been asked by Tami to share the colours I use on my watercolouring, so where I remember I'll try to include them under each post.  Thanks for your lovely comments Tami (sorry I couldn't email you back, I think you've made your blogger profile so locked down for privacy that it wouldn't even let me reply!)

Water-coloured with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:
  • Mice: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Gathered Twigs
  • Greens: Bundled Sage, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Purples: Milled Lavender, Dusty Concord

Oceans of Love

We're joining forces with Dies to Die For for our 5th birthday celebrations at In The Pink Challenge with an Anything Goes challenge.  I've used some cute little mermaids and one of the sentiments from the same set.  The stamps are available from Dies to Die For.

Nine Lives

This is another cutie from the MFT Cool Cat Stamp Set.  I've masked the stamps to create a little pile of cushions for the kitty to sit on and the sentiment is from the same set.

Congrats

I've been in quite a CAS mood lately, but today's card is all about the embellishments!
We're wanting to know what your favourite embellies are at
As You Like It Challenge this week, and I couldn't decide between pearls (which I add to almost everything), my beloved satin ribbons (which I have in a whole rainbow of colours) or flowers (again lots of colours and sizes).  Since I couldn't decide, I opted for all three plus a few die cuts for good measure!

I much prefer pearls to gemstone because i like the sheen rather than the bling, and they're so easy to add without overpowering an image. I also love my double bows in a satin ribbon to match the colours on my card. When it comes to the flowers, I like adding them in little rows of 3 or 5 around the outside of my image panel with the little green stem spirals from curling them around my paintbrush handle.

From Meow to You

Things don't come much more CAS than today's card featuring an image from MFT's Cool Cat Stamp Set.

Those of you who have been adopted as servants to a kitty may recognise this pose which is very well practised by my own furry feline disposal unit.

Robin Red Breast

I know it's August and this is a Christmas card, but I'm showcasing another of the recent release from Lili of the Valley today. This one's called Christmas Robin.  I made a bit of a mistake stamping a sentiment onto the green papers, which looked awful, so I ended up covering it up with a poinsettia and stamping a different sentiment onto the image panel instead.

You can leave your hat on!

Today's image is from the newly released festive set from Lili of the Valley called Christmas Snowman.  I love the Lili mice and this one's no exception as he's leaning to perch the hat on his fun snowman friend.

I'm usually a bit of an OCD freak with it comes to neat lines - I can't seem to bring myself to tear papers for a vintage look or place my panels at quirky angles (at least not on purpose!) - so I braved some doodling and I actually surprised myself because I quite liked the result.  It certainly seemed to frame the image quite well but I may need to lie down in a dark room to recover!

Make a Monster Wish

I've been playing with a couple of my monster images from Gerda Steiner.  That cake looks a little on the small size to me though! It's more like a muffin!  :0)

Daffy

As soon as I saw this little lady, I loved her sassy pose. Isn't she just FABULOUS!  I imagine her saying 'taa-daa!' :0)  Even her little shoes are daffodils. I've teamed her with a sentiment from another Stamping Bella image, Brittany the Birthday Girl, both from Dies to Die For.

Summer Holidays

I used this Tilda image a fortnight ago but was so uninspired by the yellow (it's not my favourite colour by a long shot) that I really didn't like my finished project.  To rejuvenate my feelings for this image, I've had another attempt at a card using her which is more matched to my usual style.  She's in much warmer reds and her ice cream is now chocolate (mmm, my favourite!).  The papers are also some that I've been saving for a while (almost too nice to use) so I'm much happier with this version.

She's perfect for the Summer Fun theme at Squirrel's Random Challenge which starts today so please pop over to see the samples by my fabulously talented teamies and to enter your own Summer themed creation. I look forward to seeing your projects.

Card Recipe:

  • Tilda with Dripping Ice Cream
  • Versafine Ink Pad

  • The Langton Watercolour paper
  • Tim Holtz Stitched Oval nesting die
