Snow White

I was itching to colour this little sweetie when she landed on my doormat and I've kept the layout really clean and simple to let her take the limelight.  I was really pleased with how she turned out, especially cos she was made for my bestie, so she needed to be what I call 'a warm-glow card'!

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Greys: Hickory Smoke, Black Soot
  • Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick, Aged Mahogany
  • Greens: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn
  • Sky: Tumbled Glass
  • Yellows: Mustard Seed, Wild Honey
  • Reds: Candied Apple, Aged Mahogany
  • Greys: Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot, Speckled Egg

Rudoph

For this week's Digi Choosday at Polkadoodles I've made an acetate panelled Christmas card featuring Rudolph. I love his cute little face peeking out from underneath that fluffy Santa hat!  I've die cut some snowflakes and stuck them onto the acetate and dry-embossed some snowflakes on the white frame too.  I've 'fussy cut' Rudolph out with my Silhouette so he looks like he's standing on the frame.  I've also popped an insert behind the panel so the text doesn't show through the acetate front when I write the card out.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs
  • Greens: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss
  • Reds: Candied Apple, Barn Door, Aged Mahogany
  • 'Whites': Hickory Smoke

Hooray Kind Of Day

I'm sharing another page from my decorated 2021 planner (original post).  This little fox and bear seemed like they were having fun in the sun, so I thought the month of May seemed appropriate for them to play in.
Here's a close up of the happy little duo from the MFT Hooray Kind of Day stamp set.

Bear Hug Tag

I really love making these supersized tags. They're great as a change to making cards, and lovely to use to decorate a present for someone special.  I've made the base shape myself using a stitched rectangle and oval stax die.

Pawty Time

I recently made a 2021 planner for my bestie and I will admit that designing all the pages took me some time (in fact, I could have made good use of a planner in order to plan my planner!).  Anyway, I've decided to make the most of the design work and make a second one.

I'm decorating each month with a water-coloured image and am sharing one of the pages with you today.

It's all bound together with some blue Zutter wires and some mountboard covers, decorated in pretty papers.  I've added in some fun pages, like the 'Movies to Watch' one you can see here, and some crafting essential pages like 'Shipping Tracker' and 'Craft Stash Wishlist'.  I will share some other pages with you as I complete them.

Here's a close up of the image, using a couple of the stamps from the MFT Pawty Time set.

Scruff Gardening

I really like the Fuzzypuff images from Polkadoodles so for this week's Digi Choosday I've used Scruff the Dog Gardening. I've coloured him no-lines-ish and kept the design simple with an ornate circle frame and easel shaped cardbase.  The papers are freebies from the Nikky bundle, and I've die cut a simple typed sentiment. It's about as masculine as I get, so there are no frilly bits!

Pastel Christmas

We want to know if you like brights or pastels at As You Like It Challenge this week.  I knew as soon as I saw the challenge theme that I would be choosing pastels but having now seen my card I'm worried that I've gone a little in the middle.  I much prefer the muted tones of pastels, especially pink and purple so both have featured on my card. I'm also trying hard to increase my Christmas card stockpile but it's going a bit slowly as I've been lacking in mojo.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Bears: Hickory Smoke, Pumice Stone, Black Soot
  • Bunnies: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo
  • Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick
  • Purples: Dusty Concord
  • Pinks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Candied Apple, Aged Mahogany
  • Snow: Speckled Egg

Bella Bear-ing Gifts

It's Digi Choosday time again and I've made an Advent Christmas card using Bella Bear Gift and Winnie Sugar Sprinkles Papers.  I created a basic side stepper card and added a little open-fronted box to hold die cut dates to countdown the days to Christmas.  I've used a festive colour combo and added some poinsettia dies to decorate.

I tried to make sure that the plaid within the various panels of patterned papers on the card base matched so the diagonal lines all flowed. It was kinda tricky, especially on the smallest piece that I added on the front of the date box!  I gave up on the matching when I got to the poinsettias!

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
  • Green: Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint

Squirrel Journal

The challenge today at As You Like It Challenge is to use your favourite stencil. I don't actually have many stencils, but when I use them I do really like the effect of them for backgrounds. I have a cloud one, but I recently bought this brick backgrounds one from Dies to Die For that I really like because it's so adaptable for any image.  I've tried to give a bit of shading behind my image and then used the brick stencil to give some texture to the backdrop.  I used 2 different ink pads when I was blending the bricks.

I've made the journal from scratch, printing a diary for 2021 as well as some stickers (reminders for birthdays, hair/vet/doctor appointments and other notable events). I also added some pages for fun things like books to read, movies to watch, things to do when bored, craft-stash shipping tracker (probably should have dedicated several pages to that in hindsight!).

I used my Zutter machine to bind it together and added an elastic wrap to hold it closed.  Now that I've done the hard work and figured out how to make it (all the planning and design of the pages took hours), I might make another one!  Decorating the outside was the fun part, and it's probably going to be more of a desk diary because I've littered it with flowers, so it may not be practical to carry around in a handbag!

Winnie the Witch

This is my first project as a noobie designer at Digi Choosday for Polkadoodles. I've made a start on my Halloween projects using Winnie Wednesday Witch & Cat on a large tag to match my trick-or-treat bag.  I really loved colouring Winnie's hair in green, and the purple / green / orange combo is perfect for Halloween.

I overlaid the purple digi papers that accompany the free Lou the Teacher Digi bundle before printing them so that I could place the lid of my box die over the digital 'join'.

Wedding Bunnies

I recently needed a wedding card for a colleague and used some sweet Lili of the Valley bunnies.  The card is actually much larger than I'd usually make, but I wanted to add quite a lot of flowers so used an 8" scalloped square base.

I love adding this beautiful white organza ribbon to wedding cards. Being a bit thinner than satin it ties a smaller knot despite being wider so isn't too bulky. I used my bow-maker to tie a double-bow and then attached it to the base of the image with some long tails.
