Bella Bear Journal

For my Polkadoodles Digi Choosday project today I've made a little journal diary using my Zutter Ringbinder and some mountboard which I've covered with pretty floral papers from the Winnie Fruit Punch papers and a cute Bella Bear Daisy.  The stripe of green gingham on the spine is from Lily Bug Love Paper Heaven 2 Papers.  My image is watercoloured using Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers.

Birthday Badger

When I saw this adorable badger in Lee Holland's Etsy shop 30% off Multibuy offer, I just had to have him!

I thought he might be flexible enough for Christmas cards, but after colouring him with some Spring grass under his paws I decided to give him a birthday theme.

Gnometastic Birthday Cake

At As You Like It Challenge this fortnight we're asking what's your favourite primary colour.  I'm not really keen on bright colours, in particular red and yellow, but I really love a beautiful soft blue, so it's an easy choice for me.  This shade is so pretty and tranquil and I use it a lot (as you can probably see from my blog!)

I'm pleased with how this Apron card turned out. The little tag fits inside the pocket created by the main image on the front of the apron and I've used some gingham papers for the 'fabric'!

I've created the main shape by cutting some oval shaped armholes from a scalloped square card and added some ribbon for the apron ties.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Cake: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo
  • Skin: Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
  • Shoes: Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire
  • Flame: Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Rusty Hinge
  • Pinks: Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo
  • 'Whites': Weathered Wood
  • Beard: Hickory Smoke

You're my Best-tea

Today's Digi Choosday card is another shaped card (I'm really enjoying making shaped cards this year!) and I've used a sweet little Bunnita Carrot Cake image and some papers from Eden Collection Paper Heaven 3 and Lily Bug Love Paper Heaven 2 collection.  I cut my cardbase using my Silhouette and added some doodled stitching around the edge, a little tag with my sentiment and some die cut flowers in contrasting kraft coloured cardstock.  My image is watercoloured using Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Fur: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Gathered Twigs, Tattered Rose, Tea Dye
  • Sky: Tumbled Glass
  • Dress: Stormy Sky, Faded Jeans
  • Pinks: Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Kitsch Flamingo
  • Ground: Weathered Wood, Hickory Smoke, Black Soot

Dragon with Christmas Candy Cane

I've been playing with my Candy Cane Dragon again today, but this time I've flipped the image so he's facing the opposite direction (well why not!) and coloured him in some purples.  It's a simple layout and I've doodled a border on the purple paper just to give it a bit of added interest.

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Greens: Bundled Sage, Twisted Citron, Peeled Paint
  • Purples: Dusty Concord, Wilted Violet

For today's card I've used an adorable little kitten with a clean and simple layout. This little Ginger Tom is from Lee Holland Digis, who has some discounts running for the month of August.  The papers are an old paper set from Lili of the Valley, now sadly only available as a Nitwit Collections digi download.

Dragon Quartet

If you're a regular visitor, then you'll know that I'm on a mission to get a wriggle on with my Christmas crafting, so today's project is a set of 4 matching Bauble shaped Christmas cards, each featuring an adorable Christmas cutie.

I'm a long-standing fan of Lee Holland's digi images and have been lucky enough to play with 4 of his festive Dragons as part of the promotions he's running in his Etsy Shop until the end of August.

There is a massive 60% off his 'Ultimate Christmas bundle' (50 Christmas character digis) and his 'Christmas Dragon Bundle' (22 Dragon images including the four I've used today), using coupon code CHRISTMAS60, which is valid until the end of August.

If you prefer to pick 'n' mix, there's also 30% off if you buy 3 single digis (no code needed).
I may have had a teensy weensy purchase when I saw that one!!!
Well it would be rude not to, right?

So, these bauble shaped cards are easily created using circle dies and a small handled 'hanger' onto which I've tied some twine and added a tiny bow.  I wanted the bauble 'hanger' to be at a jaunty angle so the fold is underneath it, on the top-left corner.  This means that the cardbase stands up a little better than a top-fold tent, which has a tendancy to do a belly flop on shiny surfaces.  I've ensured my circles don't rock like a see-saw by cutting a straight line across the base of the rear base-circle only.

Here is the full set together:

And here they are a little bigger so you can see the sweet dragons:

Water-coloured on Langton Watercolour paper with Ranger Distress Ink Reinkers:

  • Dragons: Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Frayed Burlap, Walnut Stain
  • Greens: Twisted Citron, Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, Rustic Wilderness, Forest Moss
  • Sky: Tumbled Glass
  • Reds: Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany
  • Snow: Speckled Egg
